Very impressive AJ! Do you find it a bit nerve racking listening to the clicking and clanging of the weight station everytime the weight is being lifted knowing that those weight plates could land on you should the system give way? Perhaps it is safer than it looks/sounds...

Thanks and personal safety is always a primal priority.  I use this (and all) equipment as it's intended and stay within the safe working loads recommended by the manufacturer.  I assembled this equipment myself and do perform routine maintenance as necessary.

As for the sounds heard during it's operation; all equipment is bound to have some especially when working under a decent load.  Additionally, part of what is heard there is the sound of the plates clanging together, and that is truly music to my ears.

Thanks for the response. At the weight you are putting up it would put great strain on most systems especially home gym equipment. Just wanted to make sure it was safer than it looked and within the tolerances of the equipment.

Laying on his back? That seems a little odd to me. Of course he is a Patriots fan...

Talking about the man's intensity. I don't know what he does when fishing in the dark.  :laugh5:

Well a little update.

I am still off the booze. Have had a few drinks over the last few months. Never enough to get a buzz. Come to think of it have not had one at all this month. I have lost 30 pounds. I actually had to buy new clothes. Still cheat with a smoke on the rare occasion. I really want to give it up once and for all. I gave up diet pop and started eating healthy again. Now that I am doing that I am seeing great gains in the gym. My arms chest and back are bigger then ever. I am down to 180 pounds and would love to maintain that weight just want to cut fat and add muscle. It is so nice to have a natural confidence back without needing the crutch of liquid in a bottle.

It has been a long last two months as I am caring for my mother while she is going through chemo. She is doing ok. She has more bad days then good but we are almost halfway there. She has actually been going to the gym with me and trying to maintain her strength. She also is eating healthier then ever. The decision to make a life change has not only saved my life I think that it has helped her as well.

Mentally it is amazing how clear things can be when not layered in a fog of dependency.

On a sad note, I found out who my true friends were vs bar buddies. My true friends have been great and we still hang out when we have time. My bar buddies well they stay at the bar. I still visit them from time to time. They seem to think that I am a mutant when I order a. Up of coffee and just sit there and sip it and not crave alcohol. I guess it is as foreign to them as it would have been to me just a few short months ago. I have found that my bar buddies are not as witty and fun as they once were. Now mostly I find them annoying. I actually see how I was to other people and it saddens me that I probably left that impression on people far too many times.

Well enough of my ramblings. I just wanted to update you guys and thank you guys for the kind words of encouragement.

I hope everyone has kept up with their goals. Get ready for the warm weather and tight lines.

I agree 100%

I am actually happy that I am giving up my gut and gaining mental clarity
