Mista bass Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 do u have a boat on candlewood? I do not. I'm fishing the tourneys as a co angler but if someone would take me along in exchange for gas I'd love the opportunity. I can also bring beers haha. Quote
Mista bass Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I'll be hitting Candlewood this year for the first time. I'm pretty excited about it. How's the boat ramp work? I hear you have to pay to launch your boat? Is the parking area pretty secure? Any issues leaving your vehicle at the ramp? Well if you need some company let me know! Quote
jjconnaire Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Got the word that the lake is thawing fast but still has iceburgs. Hoping I can get my kayak on it after I change my lower unit oil on my motor. Quote
jjconnaire Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 Got on the lake yesterday 4/10/15 (2nd day with no ice!) on a kayak. Threw a jerkbait and lipless crank. No luck but so nice to get out on the water. Quote
jjconnaire Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 Was on the lake his weekend. Watched water temps start at 64 to 68 on Sunday afternoon. Thought this was a big spike. Fish were still on beds but feel like they won't be much longer with those water temps Quote
Super User bigbill Posted May 20, 2015 Super User Posted May 20, 2015 Another cooler front after the thunder storms last night. Feel like September today. Going to try Saturday morning at 3:30am. I have a pitched nerve in my back but I'm on new meds so I can move a little. I need to fish. Fish everyday and fish to when the bass come off the beds. Time it with the moon phases. Catch this unbelievable feeding frenzy. Quote
Hammer-down Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 This was my first year fishing candlewood lake and for a very hot day only caught one largemouth 9.5lbs my PB I must say cant wait to go back Quote
JG233 Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Edit: Whoops! I meant to respond to the new Candlewood post. Didn't mean to drag this one back up. Quick Candlewood question - is it possible to kayak fish one or two of the bays early or late in the season before or after all the pleasure boats are around? Just wondering where to try and fish, and what ramp to use. Thoughts appreciated. Thanks! Quote
