Penguino Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Honestly, You just have to test the rod in store. The specs such as IM-8, 60 million modulus don't mean dog cr*p. One companies IM-8 could be another companies IM-6. And insanely high modulus rods such as the bass pro shops rods have many fillers added in, such as resins, in order to make the rod seem more sensitive. 1 Quote
Fishydishy Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 When I need to compare two rods to see which one is more sensitive, I take them to the water, tie them to the same sinker weight, cast them back to back. The more sensitive rod should give you more feedback when its sinker hits the bottom. You can also test them at different depth to find out more. For example, Rod A and B can feel the same at 10ft of water, but at 40 ft B is muted when it’s sinker hit the bottom while A is still very responsive. Quote
