Green Trout Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Will Dropshot rig catch more fish on those post front, high pressure days vs a moving bait? Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted January 21, 2015 Super User Posted January 21, 2015 All depends. You have other factors and conditions to look at as well. Quote
fisherrw Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 There are MANY factors when fishing dropshotz. I personally think this a very good way to get finicky fish to bite. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted January 21, 2015 Super User Posted January 21, 2015 I think that we can all agree that the definitive answer is - maybe. 4 Quote
corn-on-the-rob Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I fish a ton of drop shot but typically don't start out on it even on tough condition days. I will go through a cycle of other baits then if I have nothing at that point I spend a lot of time with drop shot to work for a bite, almost always gets me at least one. So yes, I believe it is a good option during tough conditions but never rule out other possibilities. I have spent tough days fishing drop shot and only get a couple then have someone say they slammed them on spinnerbaits (which I had tied on ready to go but never threw), gotta make sure to at least try moving baits before dismissing. travis23 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Somewhat. I mean you should look up information first, BUT im sure we can all relate to getting a lil excited and posting real quick. Its all good though, dont let that distract you from asking questions. Quote
BadBassWV Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Guys, If were going to bust some ones balls for asking a question We may as well shut the forum down. Every question has been ask at one time or another. Either Give some advise or move on. No need to make the OP not want to ever ask a question again. Quote

Okay guys, I get to read almost every post in every section of this Forum. To say some questions are redundant is redundant! We encourage new members to spend some time looking around the site, reading the fishing articles and watching our videos. If you really want to ramp up the learning curve, the articles and associated links will get you there faster than posts on the Forum. That being said, the Forum is based on give and take, questions and answers and in most cases opinion and bias. So, What's the best knot to tie the best lure to the best line on the best reel on the best rod? These questions will be asked again and again. You have ABSOLUTELY NO OBLIGATION to respond, just move on. For stuff you care about, interaction on the Forum should be fun. Let's try to be a little more courteous and gentle. -Kent 2 Quote
Super User HoosierHawgs Posted January 22, 2015 Super User Posted January 22, 2015 Water clarity is a big thing.. Cloud cover, all that stuff. Honestly, my ideal dropshot day is suspended fish, blue bird skies, and clear water. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 23, 2015 Super User Posted January 23, 2015 I know the dropshot rig can be very effective, but I prefer the ShakE2 instead. Quote
