I am a huge fan of sunline specifically sniper FC and am looking for a cranking line. I've read very mixed reviews on the reaction FC. Any thoughts on it from people who have used it. I was looking at 10 or 12lb test.

Thanks.

I've been wondering the same thing..

I use it in 10 lb. for jerkbaits. Great line, it's easily handled some 3-4 lb. smallmouth and drum up to 10 lbs. It has a small diameter so make sure you set your drag accordingly.

 This is true^^^

I love it. I use it for my moving baits.

Ok, thanks.  The setting the correct drag seems to be key.  A lot of the bad reviews are of people breaking off, which could be possibly from having the drag set too tight.

Thanks.

I'm with you, I love Sunline I almost exclusively use Sniper for all my fluorocarbon needs. However I tried out the Reaction FC for crankbaits, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits etc. I'm not sure if I got a bad spool or what but it seemed like 12lb was breaking way to easily, it was breaking even when I was tightening down my knots (not breaking at the knot but farther up the line). I'm just sticking to Sniper for everything, i've never had a single issue with it. My confidence in the Reaction FC dropped to much for me to spend the money to try it again. I'm sure it is extremely good line but i'll stick to my Sniper.

I have 12 pound test.

It has thinner diameter than mono and it does have stretch. It casts very smoothly. I was cranking rip rap last Sunday and did notice that the line had abrasions. I simply cut and retired so unfortunately I never tested to what extent the abrasions had on the lines integrity. My past experiences with fluoro would dictate that these small abrasions would snap the line with little pressure.

So basically this sunline reaction is a thinner diameter monofilament. I'd say save your money and buy mono or go with sniper which is more abrasion resistant and still contains stretch (almost as much as some monos!).
