They were never caught filming other teams practices. Get your facts straight! So its obvious you don't know what Spygate was. Look it up.

So in order to be good you have to win it all, huh? Interesting point of view. I guess getting there doesn't count. So from your point of view if you make it to the Super Bowl and lose, well thats akin to an 0-16 season! Interesting.

Yes, they were never "caught" filming the other teams practices.  They were at the Rams practice before the Super Bowl, they had video equipment, but for some reason, a tape of it never appeared.  Amazing how the Pat's were able to defend the best offense in the league like no one else could.  Then after the Rams realized they had been duped, Warner & company began scoring on that same impenetrable defense at will.  You may buy Billy's account but the rest of the world is not so blind.

Yes indeed, the cheating that the Patriots were caught at was different than what they did that Super Bowl.  You have to give it to Belicheat, he is a master at finding different ways to cheat.  Belicheat cheats and the Patriot homers run to his defense...

And where in the world did I even come close to saying to be good you have to win it all?  The Patriots under Belicheat have been good & they wouldn't have had to cheat to do that.  They haven't been great since they were caught cheating, but that hasn't stopped Billy from trying out new ways to cheat.  Some folks just have a psychological problem of having to cheat no matter what, similar to a wealthy woman shoplifting 10 bucks worth of perfume.

Haha. Haters gonna hate, that'll never change. End of the day, though, we are taking another ring, putting it on our middle finger, and gonna show you real good what it looks like.

Have to agree, inflated or deflated, it wouldn't have mattered.

That was a beat down, plain and simple.

Cheating means you broke the rules.....now if you happen to find grey area and are SMART ENOUGH to figure out how to use it to your benefit then because the others didn't think of it first......you cheated.  I just call it staying one step ahead of everyone else.  Say what you say about old Billy, but his teams work hard, if they don't they sit.  You WILL play to the level he expects or you will sit. He has no problem benching starters.  Why, because he has a diciplined team that plays as a team.  But as stated, the haters are gonna hate, but 4 rings sure do look good especially when one is on the middle finger and they show you the bling.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork was driving home from Sunday night's rousing victory against the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship Game when he noticed a Jeep Wrangler rolled onto its side on Route 1 not far from Gillette Stadium.

There's an unconfirmed report initiated by the Indianapolis Colts organization that the tires on this vehicle may have been underinflated and they have requested a full investigation.

Funny how the Patriots couldn't win a Super Bowl AFTER they were caught cheating, filming other teams practices.  New England fans love to say that it wasn't that big of a deal, but once they weren't allowed to do it anymore, they became the Minnesota Vikings or Buffalo Bills of their generation.  Very good team, just not the best one year after year after year.  New England has been a good team the last decade, but how in the world can you classify them as THE dominant team when they haven't won a Super Bowl in that time period (the last decade)?  The Bills were not THE dominant team in the 90's because they lost all 4 Super Bowls they went to.  Like the Patriots, they were a very good team, just never the best team in any one year.

I have never said the Patriots have not had a good team under Belicheat, what I disagree with is the assessment that the Patriot homers place them among the greatest ever.  Nope, sorry, they don't fit.  The greatest ever teams win every Super Bowl they go to.  The greatest ever teams don't cheat and then pass it off as not a big deal.  The Belicheat Patriots are a level or 2 below the greatest teams ever.  Noll's Steelers & Walsh's 49ers were top of the heap, closely followed by Johnson's Cowboys & Lombardi's Packers.  Belicheat's Patriots fall more in line with Shula's Dolphins or Landry's Cowboys.

Except for the fact that Shula & Landry never got nailed by the league for cheating...

In that case, knock Belicheats Patriots down one more rung to Maddens Raiders.

Just to clear a couple things up, and lay some truth down..The "spygate" rule was enacted in the offseason after the 2005 season, just prior to 2006.The league sent a memo to every NFL team during that offseason, letting them know of the rule change..so that means that prior to 2006, what they did was legal, and many coaches have come out and said it was commonplace and they did it, Jimmy Johnson and Bill Cowher to name a couple. So during the early part of the 2006 season, the Patriots are caught still taping, and punished for breaking a rule..they then win 18 games in a row, and lose the super bowl because they didnt tape the Giants??or perhaps a receiver for the giants had a prayer of a pass stick to his helmet..he drops that ball, Pats win..then in 2010 the Pats lose another super bowl, because they couldnt tape the opposition, or perhaps it was because Welker dropped a ball that would have sealed the game.Whatever. Meanwhile they have been in almost every conference championship game since 2001, but I'm sure it's because of taped practices and deflated balls.. Before you start spewing your hate, you really should check some real world facts.

Hmm...

All this speculation and not a bit of proof?

On the other hand,  God must be a Seattle Seahawks fan.

Divine intervention is the only explanation for that win!

This is a great thread!

Seattle's Pete the Cheat as head coach and New England as the NFL cheaters.

Wonder who will cheat the most in this game?

And by the way, the NFL rule book states that the home team is responsible for the balls for both teams.

I really doubt there was time to add or subtract air from any of the footballs after they were weighed before kickoff.

A Team Magician! I'm telling you! No team is that dag-gone lucky.. It wasn't even good football.. Just magic!!

Had the game been won by a single passing play during the heaviest rain of the night, there might be a valid argument.  The final score was - er - 45 to 7.  Even if B & B did it, what matter would it have made....  I'm gonna go with the majority and agree it's just someone just stirring up crap.

Let's try to focus on the Superbowl, which might turn out to be one for the history books.  The two BEST teams in football, both playing great ball....  no matter who wins, it's gonna be one heck of a game....

I was under the impression that each team brings their own balls to use on offense and special teams but that not be true.....even though i read it on the internet :)

Local sports radio up here said about the same thing, that both teams brought their own footballs and air pressure was checked before the game and half time.

'Course, Grampa Casey always said, "believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see."

Even though the patriots probably would have won without cheating that doesn't make it okay, this isnt the first time and it won't be the last.

Spewing my hate?  I disagree that Belicheat's Patriots are the greatest team of all time and that is spewing hate?  I have said numerous times that his teams are good, probably in the top ten of all time, but since I don't march the party line of New England homers, I am accused of spewing hate?  I believe the only hate out there is from Patriots fans towards anyone who dares challenge their notion that the greatest things in life all happen in Boston.

Boston is one of the most narcissistic cities in the nation, closely rivaled by the Bay Area & Newport Beach on the opposite coast.  When it comes to sports, the belief is that all great things in sports only occur when a Boston team is playing.  When was the last time you heard a Steeler fan, a Spurs Fan or a S.F. Giants fan claim that other sports fans are "haters"?  They don't, because they have a healthy perspective of sports & how people love their teams, attributes sorely lacking in New England.

I was born & raised in Southern California.  If I was a "hater" of Boston sports, why would I declare that the greatest NBA player was Bill Russell?  Better than Kareem, better than Magic, better than MJ, better than Kobe. He played for a rival of my local team, but his ability to make his teammates better and win consistently made him the greatest in my opinion.  Same thing when I vote for Joe Montana as the greatest QB of all time, along with Terry Bradshaw.  I'm not looking at raw numbers, but rather leadership ability and making his teammates better.  Montana used to come to SoCal every fall & beat the Rams, but I don't let that cloud my opinion of where I believe he sits all time.

Sorry, Belicheat & Brady are not the greatest ever.  You don't have to agree with me, but then you also don't have to project your insecurities on me either by calling me a hater.  Just drink the Kool-Aid, snuggle up with your signature Belicheat hoodie and Brady blow-up doll and dream of their next Super bowl win.  Because dreaming is as close as they are gonna get...

I don't know, there were all those national championships under Pete Carroll  they had to vacate at USC under his watch....Maybe that ball on the onside kick was over inflated.  We should call for an investigation to to make sure.  No wait, Green Bay didn't complain when they blew the game.  Only the teams that seem to loose against New England complain when they get out coached or run over.  I mean they can't be that good.....or can they?  We will see in two weeks.

I don't own a team, but it is nice to meet you Mr. Kraft.  May I suggest a shirt color other than pink?  And those white collars make you look like a priest.

By 18 holes, you weren't referring to the womenfolk in your clan, were you?  :)

Encroachment, False start, Holding (defensive) Holding (offensive) Offside, Pass interference, Personal foul, Roughing the kicker, and Roughing the passer are all against the rules and considered "Cheating" during the game.

There are even penalties levied on a team who would stoop so low as to commit any of these travesties.

So the old "it isn't cheating if you don't get caught" mentality, huh?  That seems to be a theme in the New England area.

In a New England bass tournament, do they count the weight of the metal cage you kept the bass in for the weeks prior to the tournament or do they just figure it will even out against the tungsten weights you shoved down the fishes gullet?

I don't have a dog in this fight, so... How about them chiefs? Lol. Only team to beat both Super Bowl competitors...

RSM789 - Just to be clear; the intention of my posts here are for fun.  Though I am a Boston Sports fan, I'm a happy one and it will always be that way.  I hold no ill will toward you or your believes regarding the mind set of the of New England  sports fan population, you're entitled to it.

However, the back & forth here is heading somewhere I am not willing to go.

I'm done with this one and we're on to Seattle.

Enjoy your evening.

Now what could possibly lead anyone to that conclusion ?

Your responses here don't seem hateful of defensive at all.

Thank you for proving my point.  Making a claim that a certain city is the most narcissistic is not hateful, it is an opinion.  Only when one is narcissistic & insecure do they believe that anything other than glowing praise is hate.

This is great entertainment!!!!   The Chiefs did have a few good games though. But they couldn't hold it together through the whole season.
