Mike2841 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Well I was gonna buy an antares but I may have to hold off, or maybe I'll still get the antares. Decisions decisions ... Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted January 20, 2015 Super User Posted January 20, 2015 Thanks for your input, 100 it is. It just occured to me that CQ14-100 has smaller line capacity than the CQ00-100 so I guess you should really determine what line you want to use before picking a size. I use mostly 10 pound line and the 100 will hold about 100yds - plenty for me. It will hold about 85yds of 12 pound - still enough for me. Quote

TorqueConverter Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I've been looking for a reel that will be realizing winding kimono with adoption of metal body unique. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted January 20, 2015 Super User Posted January 20, 2015 Just so we're clear, those line capacities are for the CQ14-100?Yes - for the CQ14-100. The smaller sideplate is nice...but there is a reduction in capacity to pay for it.I'm still "calibrated" to the CQ00-100/CTE-100GT capacity of about 115yds/12lb or 95yds/14lb...which was why I mentioned that I only use my 200 for 17lb. So, for CQ14, line capacity of the 100 may be an issue for you. Quote

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 20, 2015 Super User Posted January 20, 2015 I haven't used my CQ14-100 for anything under about 3/8 oz. Under 3/8, I use a 50 size 10-4. I was really hoping for a 50/1 this year...want to pair a Conquest with the Megabass Pop-X Stick. Quote
Maico1 Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 I need some reference here. How does the CTE200GT compare to the Conquest? As much as I enjoy my Conquest collection of round reels there is nothing wrong with the GT (non JDM) versions in my opinion. Plainly put they are casting machines that lack the fine tuned options of their JDM cousins Goose stated earlier in this thread. However if you are an Enthusiast you certainly can have a lot of fun fine tuning the GT with all the options that are available on the market today just ask Hooligan about that. Out of the box the GT is one fine performer and if you are into round reels you should have at least one in your stable as it is another you will be able to hand down within your family....... Quote
OK Bass Hunter Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Three years ago I asked Bantam for higher gear ratio TE-GT and my dream is finally becoming a reality. On a side note, some things I will have to without around the house. New pants, new shoes and maybe some basic foodstuffs will have to be foregone. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted January 21, 2015 Super User Posted January 21, 2015 That's a fact, but I'm dying for the new Stella first. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted January 21, 2015 Super User Posted January 21, 2015 That's a fact, but I'm dying for the new Stella first. Just buy a JDM Certate & you will get over the Stella fever. Then you can take the money you saved & get a new conquest too. Quote
