Thinking of picking one up to use for pitching jigs. 7.3:1 LH model is what I had in mind. Anyone who has used this reel, please comment on your experiences with it. I have heard some great things about it and a few not so great things about it, so I am a bit skeptical.

I own both the Komodo and regular Helios. Both are pretty much the same real besides the Drag's. The Komodo has a multi drag stack and the drag is smoother.

But the Helios seems to be a better reel to me over all. I wouldn't pay over 160 for either one, shop around and you can find good deals on them.

Even better if you want to spend over 180, is the Helios Air. Great over all caster from 1\4 - 3/4, and is lite weight.

That is way too much of a reel for just pitching jigs... I would pick another reel unless you want to be throwing some big swimbaits...

I think you are thinking the the 364. I am just talking about the regular Komodo.

I own a 364P with power handle and love it... no issues for me for the last 12 months. I am thinking of acquiring another one. Okuma is now a top runner on the West Coast, a lot of good products have been released in the last 3-4 years.

Feature wise the reel is a good value. My only gripes were that to access the internal breaking system you have to remove the side plate. The worst part is that once removed, it doesnt have a hinge or anything holding it on. Just be careful not to do this over the waters edge. I sold my Komodo because I didnt care for the breaking system and access to it. Everything else was stellar.
