Kvd Line And Lure Really Work?

It's good stuff.  If you use it on mono it will work but you won't see drastic difference.  Use it on FC and it is magic.

I think it works but as a lube that does not change the line at all. Line magic or whatever its called is not good on flouro for that reason

I am still finding it hard to believe you guys find it necessary to apply a line conditioner to 6# mono.  It is obvious I am in the minority here.  I had 2 bottles of KVD, but gave one away to a new fisherman and his 3 kids.  They were using spinning reels with the cheap line that came on the reels.  Gave them some hooks and plastics as well since the father had a heavier rod, but was trying to cast lures designed for ultralight rods.  Also gave them some advice about limiting line twist and how to remove it. 

 

I use KVD occasionally, but not even close to all the time.  Heck, I've got cheap 10# fluoro on one casting rod that hasn't seen any line conditioner since being spooled, and it isn't causing me any undue problems.  Normally lines such as Big Game that have some memory straighten their self out after making a few casts.  I do keep the rod tip in the water those first few casts to get the line nice and wet.  Of course I am not a tournament fisherman so don't mind possibly missing a fish on those first few casts.  (An extreme impossibility where I fish.)

 

It was once mentioned to me by a long time b/c user that he didn't like to use line conditioners once the line was on the spool because he felt it might work its way into the bearings.  I personally feel this is rather remote, and have used KVD on line already spooled.  I do try to keep the spray only hitting the line.  I also feel it does work to remove line memory.  I just don't see it being necessary to use all the time.  Might feel differently if I had some investments in the stock.

Yes. Started with reel magic which didn't seem to do anything about the memory. Did some research and discovered this two years ago. I was skeptical but after 2 full seasons with it I don't leave home without it.

It saves me from responding as much as I used to.

I am a fan. It works well for me. I use it on light mono to heavy fluorocarbon.

That isn't true. It is good on flourocarbon for that reason. The product helps reduce coil, line twists, and memory. The smoother and straightened line handles better and casts easier and further. Braided lines may not see the effects as much as flourocarbons, monos, and co-polys. A great product for spinning and casting reels but especially spinning. The fact that it has zero odors or harmful chemical residue is an added plus.

KVD L&L not only helps with line management, but will also grow hair, cure impotence, and twice a year will make your wife look like Kate Upton.

Of course I am kidding about the last three things, but it's phenomenal for all non-braided lines.

It's definitely more of a spinning reel problem than it is a baitcasting one.

I use it all the time on everything except braided line.

KVD Line & Lure Conditioner is a great product and

it doesn't hurt a think to get it on your reel.

I luv it.  I also use it on braided line. Definitely keeps memory down on FC and on braid just seems to cast smoother.

it is a confidence booster.

 

When I use it on spinning reels I take the spinning rods and reels outside and tie the line's end to a bird feeder pole and then walk off about 60 yards and pull it straight three or four times, holding it for about 30 seconds each time.

 

I then untie and walk  back to the rods and reel the line back on the spinning reel in a tight manner.

 

This helps get the twist out of the line and I am under the impression that the Line and Lure product helps do this.

 

When on the water I still get line twist but that is caused by the plastics.

 

So once again, it is a confidence booster.
