Cabelas Super Magnum Bag For A Co-Angler

A question for you boaters mostly or co-anglers, do you think a cabelas Super Magnum bag is ok to bring? I haven't seen them in person but the specs are 27"L x 12"W x 14"H. I am looking to buy one but want opinions on whether you think it is too large of a bag to bring for a co-angler.

Super magnum might be a little big. I have the magnum and it holds a lot. Just don't buy it with the Plano boxes already in it. They are all 2" thick and you can get more of the 1.38" thick boxes in it.

I have a Mag. w/ Plano 6701 boxes and 3500 boxes in the outside compartments. That is a ton of tackle and makes for a very heavy bag, I couldn't fathom a Super Mag, my back hurts already. Brian.

The amount of tackle you can fit in a reg. Magnum bag will shock you. I have 6 3700's in mine and 2 3600's, but you can fit 2 more 3600's than what I have, PLUS you have other pockets and areas to hold misc gear like snips, plastics, and what ever else you feel like you need to bring. Below is my Mag bag and a pic of most of my 3700 boxes. I mean if you are the kind that EVERYthing needs to have its own spot go bigger.

That's a lot of tackle.  I would try to cut it down a little.  If you're going on a bigger bass boat, you probably will get away with it but you might sink a john boat.

I have a Super Magnum, as it was a college tournament and my parter and I could only bring 1 bag each so we got the biggest bags possible.  It holds an incredible amount of tackle!!!!  I personally think it is too big for a coangler, but I can narrow down my tackle decently before I go.  If you have a super magnum amount of tackle and have trouble narrowing down what you need, you could get  it.  But its gonna be a bear to get on the boat, find a spot for it, and lug too and from the car.  I personally find mine to be more of a hassle and I will opt for a bag half the size most of the time.  I typically will use the Bass Pro Red Extreme Qualifier bag, when I am a co angler and try to throw a worm binder or two on there with a carabiner.  With all that being said... The Cabelas Super Magnum is an EXTREMELY nice bag (I feel like its much better quality than the BPS bag) However its size is just a little too much for me.

I use the super magnum for my hard baits and terminal tackle and a little bit of my soft plastics, no way I'd bring it as a co-angler in a draw tournament without talking to my boater first. The bag I normally used as a co-angler carried 6 3700 boxes and a few plastics in 3 side pockets, I'd usually bring one big worm binder full of plastics too. Some guys are even going to see that as too much tackle but I almost had full blown panic attacks trying to pare my gear down that far sometimes so it was the best I could do.

Its insane how much tackle the magnum holds if you use the slim 3701s. It gets pretty heavy.
