Joedodge Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Thanks, had a great time. I honestly didn't think we'd do well with the weather so cold this morning Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 You did better than me. I went out around noon figuring the water would warm up a bit and I might get a bite. I ended up with a few dinks. Quote
Joedodge Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 Haha they look like fairly decent fish to me man. What where ya using a bait? Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 First one i caught on 4 inch molten craw colored havoc pit boss. The second was on a super fluke in baby bass color. I've had success with the super fluke in lilipad cover. What I really like about them is that they are extremely durable. I've gone through maybe 3 of them and I've probably caught anywhere between 10-15 fish. They also hide the hook very well so they are perfect for the lilipads. Quote
Joedodge Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 I've done very well on dingerz and zoom trick worms. I've thrown super flukes a lil but not with any luck yet Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 18, 2015 Super User Posted January 18, 2015 Yesterday was the first day that I haven't had a strike, this cold front really shut them down here in South Florida, at least the places I fish. I've been as hot as I have ever been the last few weeks, some real quality fish, but Zippo yesterday. Haven't gone to the ocean in a week, think I may go this morning. Quote
Joedodge Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 I didn't know the weather would be so cold yesterdY morning when we made plans to pond hop. When I walked outside I didn't have high hopes but I guess they where still hungry lol. My co worker wanted to thro the towel in pretty early said we wouldn't get anything Quote
Super User Darren. Posted January 18, 2015 Super User Posted January 18, 2015 Congrats on the nice bass, gents! I had no strikes yesterday at all. It was yard cleanup day, gutter cleanout day, and no fishing was had. Quote
Joedodge Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 That's what I'm stuck doing today she says if I wana play I gotta pay Quote
dakota1126 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 What kinda depth are yall fishin the trick worms and dingers at? Quote
Joedodge Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 Most of our ponds and lakes here are in the 3-7 foot range im guessing. Anything deeper I've been trying to throw a rooster tail. A lot of our ponds are grassy and mucky hard to throw spinnng baits in Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 19, 2015 Super User Posted January 19, 2015 The ponds I fish I think are more like 10-12' but with no significant drop off not much depth off the shoreline. I stick petty much with shallow running lures and top waters, roostertails have been super good. Yesterday the bite improved a little bit but a short window. Quote
