I usually run straight fluorocarbon. But I've been persuaded to try braid to a flourocarbon leader. So the question is, What braid do you guys recommend?

Been using 10 lb PP for years with a 6 to8 lb leader (silverthread fluro) no complaints

Not to threadjack - but can someone please explain to me why you wouldn't just stay with 6lb. FC InvizX or Sniper for drop shot ? ...Wouldn't braid for drop shot be a disadvantage anytime the line is slack while working the rod tip ? ... Lastly , I saw Dave Mercer fish an identical drop shot set up to his fishing partner except Dave's fishing partner was using 6lb. FC while Mercer was using braid to FC leader - Mercer got smoked so badly by his partner that he switched up to a straight FC drop shot set up and imediately began matching the hook up / catch ratio of his partner - that spoke volumes to me !

I fish 10lb pp.  Now I do fish a longer topshot, 8-10ft as opposed to 18".  So you get the best of both with a longer topshot/leader.

Line manageabiity -FC twists and flows off the reel when you don't want it to. Sensitivity. Casts further.

Disadvantages of braid:  Sometimes it casts out a horrible snarl!

That being said, on my next DS outing, I'm taking two rods - one with braid/leader and one with FC.  I will alternate casts and see if there is a significant difference in the bite.  That will eliminate the skill of the other angler (or mojo) as a reason for more fish.

To the hijacker: It's easier to see braid moving in the water, and it transmits better, ie no stretch. And as long as you have a leader, it's just as sneaky. The biggest benefit is line management, it's supple and has no memory on the spool.

To the OP: I really like Sunline, the Kanzen braid is top notch. It also comes in yellow which is super visible in stained water.
