0119 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Smoke inshore 40 is on tap. Impressively light. I just played with them at the Quantum table of a local shops tent sale. 20% off and I know I'll regret not getting one in 30 size. But they had 50% off on the baitcasters so I picked up 2 Exo's. I must say the Quantum staff was the most pleasant to talk to from all the factory folks there except Gary Loomis who has to be the nicest man in the fishing industry. Edge rods now have his long lost beloved Wiebe reelseats. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted March 14, 2015 Super User Posted March 14, 2015 I've already ordered 2 reels off my list. I got a Conquest 200 a few weeks ago and have an Alphas SV on it's way from Japan, should be here next week. Quote
Patrick Morrow Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I hope not a single good reel comes out this year. I have already too much of them. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted March 14, 2015 Super User Posted March 14, 2015 Well as an update I pulled the trigger on the new Alphas SV 105SHL. I ordered through Japan Lure Shop yesterday, and got shipping confirmation this morning. I also bought a Tatula from Ripppin Lips and that should be here soon, too. I'm excited to see what all the fuss is about for the SV spool! Extremely nice! Congratulations. I love the Alphas format. Got to get one too, but probably will have to wait until someone else sells their's so I can afford one. Can I list reels I bought since last season, but haven't had a chance to fish yet? Tatula...standard Tatula Type R 8.1:1 Tatula Type R Limited Edition PXL Type R Primmus On my wish list Helios Air Komodo Alphas SV Concept "C" but will settle for an "A" Either a Lews Team Lite or anther Tournament Pro as a grandson took mine shortly after getting it Quote

Yeah, but doubt that would stop us anyway. Too many good used ones keep going up for sale. Bought an oldie but goodie over the winter....another TD-Z 105H. Quote
atown angler Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Picked up a Daiwa Steez ex100xs over the winter for almost half price on eBay. Paired up beautifully with my DVT custom and ready to rock! Quote

Alpha Male Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Baitmonkey struck again as I have already just ordered the following: Abu garcia revo elite 8 Abu garcia revo winch gen 3 Abu garcia revo Ltd Lews tournament pro Not that any of those are new releases but new none the less Pinnacle dhc5 6'6" med-fast Robyn champion 735c fh. I also have an order sitting in my tw cart calling to me. The fact that it's 64° here in minnesota but we still have a hard water problem makes the baitmonkey's pull that much harder to resist. 1 Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted March 15, 2015 Super User Posted March 15, 2015 I've got a JDM CI4 on the way. It was cheaper than driving to my local BPS and buying US model. Add to the list a *** I picked up for Christmas, as well as my existing arsenal of Shimano, BPS, Lews, Diawa, and Abu Garica. I take out different reels based on what I'm in the mood for, but my Cores, Lews, and Concepts get the most use. Quote

Im thinking that Elite 8 is a darkhorse. Ill bet it rivals the Metanium in performance. Its got a really light spool. Quote
oldschoolbasser Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Just ordered an Alpha 105SH. With the exchange rate it's down to $185. 1 Quote

oldschoolbasser Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Now's a good timecto buy in Japan as the prices have really dropped. Unfortunately, the Evergreen rod I want isn't in stock. Hope it comes in soon before rates go back up! Quote

Cgrinder Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I'm going to be living vicariously through you guys with the Alphas SV for a while. My girlfriend is lucky that I love her more than the Alphas platform. Now, if another LH I'ze Personal comes up, I might be single. Quote

oldschoolbasser Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Cheched the EMS tracking, and my reel has been stuck in Customs since the 17th! WTH! This has never happened before, usually it's only been there for a day. Quote

This has never happened before, usually it's only been there for a day. Any time I've had a shipment get stuck in customs I've ended up getting hit with a duty charge. I ordered a reel a month or so ago that was stuck in Chicago Customs for like 2 weeks. Quote

It was actually delivered today. You'll be okay. 1 Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted March 20, 2015 Super User Posted March 20, 2015 Cheched the EMS tracking, and my reel has been stuck in Customs since the 17th! WTH! This has never happened before, usually it's only been there for a day. I get around 2 shipments (not fishing items) per month from the orient, been doing this about 8 years. Whether it's EMS or RR usually my delivery comes in about 10 days from the time it's dropped off at the their PO. These items do get "lost", delayed and sometimes returned to sender. I have a shipment that cleared customs March 4., have no idea where it's at. I have had deliveries when the USPS tracking system can't locate the item. This type of thing just happens with international shipping. 1 Quote
