Although I spend a good amount of my time fishing ...

 

and feel that my hobby is not in control of me... (I think) ...

 

I find myself dreaming about fishing at times...

 

My last dream was a few hours ago... it went like this...

 

"The boys and I headed out extra early to one of our special fishing spots ,

 

but when we got close to the spot the road was flooded out and had to head back home "...

I've dreamed about fishing a couple times, and I've been up at night losing sleep over the next morning's fishing so many times.

I have a reoccurring dream of a fishing trip that I remember having with my Grandmother and Grandfather. I love it when I have this dream and always wake with a smile on my face.

Have dreams about fishing ALL the time. Usually they are of me just fishing. I had one recently that i caught a state record. Funny thing is that ive never specifically targeted big bass. Im just happy if i catch any.

Yup, I dream about fishing a couple times a week that I remember.  I don't usually remember specifics except that the dream was about fishing.

I remember dreaming of being on a dock fishing with a yo-zuri crystal minno and hooking into a striper and having my rod break causing me to have to reel the fish in by hand lol. it was crazy and so vivid.

I hate not being able to sleep before fishing or tournaments.

 

This winter has gotten to me though, a couple days ago I dreamt that I caught and weighed a 15lber but it only measured 11 inches so I had to throw it back for the tournament. When I woke up I realized how absurd the fish looked, it was like some one took a frying pan to a giant basses face until it was 11 inches.

Many of my dreams have more to do with fishing tackle (lures) than they do with fishing itself.  I once dreamt I had stumbled upon an old abandoned/forgotten bait store on the edge of a lake and there were aisles and aisles of great old baits.  I was completely ecstatic as I filled a bag with lures.  I told myself to stop and save some for others but then I kept going and going.  In another dream there was a spillway which had drained dry and in the bottom were hundreds of baits of every description.

 

Come to think of it, most of my fishing dreams wind up frustrating-like my boat motor won't start or I've snagged a carp.  I seldom actually catch fish in my dreams.  :  (

I dream about hooking huge catfish a lot. not sure why because I bass fish most of the time but its still pretty cool

  Had a dream that I caught a really big brown trout and put it in a cooler on ice. When I checked on the fish it had turned into a big sucker, but someone told me it's their natural defense against humans and it was just trying to get me to throw it back.

 

 I have ZERO idea how that dream came about, usually dreams are bits and pieces of things I have thought about or done recently put together in unusual ways, but this dream was just plain weird.

Can't say I have dreams about fishing, nor dreams of women out of my league or boats out of my price range (wife is stunning Filipina and I'd have to give up my motorcycles for a boat), but I DO dream of only working 1 job by my mid 50's so I CAN fish more .... At that point I'll get the boat.

I know I have had dreams about fishing before and I am pretty sure I've set the hook a few times lol. I did have a dream one time that when I was fishing strictly for walleye I kept hooking into everything but walleye. Largemouth, small mouth, sucker, giant bream, and a goby lol. The ironic thing is that is exactly the case. I still haven't caught a walleye after 4 trips fishing for them lol. I used to not be able to sleep before tournaments but now typically sleep well the night before unless I'm away from home then I don't sleep haha

I had one just the other night where the bass were going crazy over my LC gunfish, they were hitting it every cast. I was beyond upset to wake up and find it was just a dream.

Usually it's looking over the side of the boat when dad is idling down the lake. And I somehow smell that sweet sweet smell of a Mercury in the morning.

Had a dream the other night that i caught a large red snapper type fish that looked very bassy

The one dream that always stands out to me...

My bother and I were fishing in this big pond in front of my dad's old work building from a red and black bass boat (that we don't own and the pond doesn't exist in real life, it's just a big lawn with a drainage ditch). I was throwing a crank bait and hook into a monster. I'm talking WR for sure. The bass was well over 3 ft long, had a mouth as big as a basketball, and a belly like it swallowed a potato sack. Huge! Like grouper big. I'm as excited as can be, knowing what's on the other end of the line. So I'm fighting this thing in for what seems like an eternity and my brother decides he's going to reposition the boat to help me instead of grabbing the net. He has a total brain fart and steers the trolling motor right over the line. SNAP! As he's bent over in disbelief at the front of the boat, I kick him in square in the ass overboard. I then grab every rod and piece of tackle on the boat and throw it in as well. The dream always ends with me flipping him the bird over my shoulder as I throttle out of there. I'm not positive, but I feel like there's a life metaphor in there somewhere.

The first time I had the dream, I woke up genuinely mad. Didn't talk to him for two days haha.

Yeah I have fishing dreams every now and then. It always takes place at one of the ponds I fish. I will hook into the bass of a lifetime, but never actually see the fish. Then after what seems to be the worlds most physically draining largemouth fight, the line breaks.

I'll get em one of these nights.
