jeff97zzz Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 So I know know that I want a Lews reel. I don't really have a spending limit but I would like to know if there is a big difference between like the Team Lews Lite and the Tournament Pro? What is your favorite. I plan on pairing the reel with a 7'3 MH Duckett Micro Magic Pro Jig fishing mainly. Quote
Super User HoosierHawgs Posted January 14, 2015 Super User Posted January 14, 2015 Depends on the size of the Jigs. I personally don't mind a little extra weight. I would go with the Tournament Pro, lots of Lew's pro staff cite that as being there favorite Lew's. Quote
jyu87 Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I've got the speed spool LFS. There are a couple extra upgrades for a little bit more upgrade but not enough for me to really justify spending more money. Lews really does make a great product and I happy to purchase it after reading up on them and looking at others personal reviews. You can't go wrong. Even with the $60 American Hero! Quote
SenkoGuru Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I own 2 Team Lew's, a Team Lew's Pro, Team Lew's Gold, Lew's Super Duty, Lew's BB1 and Lew's BB1 Pro. Out of all of those reels I enjoy fishing with the Lew's BB1 Pro the most. Quote
Alpha Male Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I like my tournament pro the most. I have a bb1, a tournament, and a pro. Quote
Blues19 Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I was told by a guide once that the $99 Lews reel is all you need. That being said, I was informed the BB1 was the top seller at one tackle shop. That shop also quit selling all other baticasters but Lews, since they outsold everything else by far. I dont think they have a bad reel, so go for whichever you are most comfortable with. Quote
SDbassin Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 ive got a tournament pro, super duty, team lews lite and team gold carbon spinning reel. I love my tournament pro, and have it on a micro magic 7'3' mh, to me its the best all around reel, Its great at throwing both light and heavy stuff. I also really like the team lews lite, I have it on a micro magic cranking rod, really light, but to me it doesn't feel as sturdy as the tournament pro. tournament pro is my favorite out of all of them and feels better in my hands. Grantman83 Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I've owned almost all of them and I haven't had a bad experience. Overall, the tournament pro is a great all round but I loooove the super duty. It just feels beastly Quote
ak47soulja22 Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Toss up between tournament pro and team gold. If you look around you can get the team gold for about the same price at the tournament pro... You can't go wrong with any of their bait casters. I have a buddy that has the carbon fire and it is also a good reel for the price. Quote
