I was thinking either the big cabin that sleeps up to 10, or we can get 2 of the mid sized cabins and split the group up. I think they all have 1 bathroom and 2 or 3 bedrooms depending on the cabin size. We made it work at Grand last year with everyone sharing one bathroom and only 1 bedroom. It's about $60-$70 a person for 2 nights either way.

I guess Ill be the designated driver.

I won't be drinking either, and I have no problem being a DD, but I'm not babysitting anyone either.

I think 2 cabins is probably the best route just so we aren't as packed together and to give the toilet a break in the mornings after everyone's coffee starts working  :laugh5:

Yeah, cause you and I NEVER bring 10 times more crap than everyone there could use in a weekend  :eyebrows:

No apple pie goodness???? I'll be disappointed if you don't bring at least a case of that stuff. Would go really well with my morning coffee.... :respect-059:

If a couple guys want to toss in some bucks for the supplies I'll make that or some blueberry pie (or both). I won't be drinking at the bars is what I guess I should have said.

I second that, I'll drink a few at the cabin, but I'm sticking with tea if we go to a bar.

So if nobody wants to go to the bars, Spider Creek is going to be the best option.  When I was down there for work I found an all you can eat catfish and shrimp place just east of thorncrown chapel.

This beaver trip is starting to sound a little suspect given the lack of beaver involved :)

I'm leaving Spider creek now, the cabins look OK but the parking may be an issue. We didn't see any single cabin that had enough room for all of us to park (5 boats?).

And the "resort" is on a red dirt/rock road. If it's dry it shouldn't be that big of a deal other than probably changing shoes before getting into a boat.

The place has a "tackle shop" next door. It didn't look like it had a lot of stuff we'd use but it was also a convenience store.

The guy working was a guide and could probably put us on the fish if he's nice enough to share his knowledge?

Okay guys, we need to get a move on before everything is booked that weekend. Curt checked out Spider Creek. It sounds like there's going to be some hassles with going there like some nasty red dirt roads and gated parking areas that may or may not have enough room to park our boats hooked up and are potentially going to be a pain to park the boats in general. We may just be looking at having to unhook the boats in a parking spot and hook back up in the morning, which is a pretty minimal hassle really. Curt suggested Thurman's Lodge where he's stayed before. It looks decent and isn't crazy expensive. Let's hear some opinions on it and get this ball rolling before we have to sleep in our boats at the ramp  :laugh5:

Did you look at the pics on Facebook of River View Resort? It's got river access for fishing, it's paved and I think it has a restaurant? That may be handy in the mornings.

Wasn't that the place that said we'd have to charge our batteries in the rooms each night?
