Need a budget to work with.

In general a h fast action rod. Your choice of length with a 7 to 1 reel or faster.

How about a 966 telescopic XH-Mod-F 3/8-2oz spiral wrapped, Fuji Alconite Guides, burl cork grip of custom dimensions paired with a Revo SC (custom red color from Cabelas) or 4600C3  with backing ready to be spooled with your brand of braid. PM me if you want to talk.

Powell Max Mag Bass casting 8'0" mag Heavy Punching/Flipping rod or Duckett White Ice Terry Scroggins Casting Rod 7'8" XX-Heavy Punching/flipping Rod with a TWS Daiwa Zillion.   $500 at base price or you could shop around and buy either combo for around $380

I bought a legend extreme

  LXC711HMF 7'11" H Mod. Fast 1 14 - 30 1/2 - 2

Reel was a Lews Tournemant Pro.

This rod works great for the type of punching I do.  It also doubles as a frog rod and swim bait rod.

St. Croix LTB 7'9" H/MF paired up with a Revo Beast and minimum of 50 lb braid.

For the rod, i would go with a Dobyns 6 Power, 746 or 766.  For the reel i would get a TWS Zilllion 9.1 ratio.  65lb 832 and you'll be all set!

The one I use I can't even get anymore or find.  Quantum Tour Tactical "Hack Attack 7'11"H Mod action with a *** *** 8.1:1.  But then depending on the thickness I also have a 7'11" HXF Black *** with a EXO 100 7.3:1.  Different action and works for baits up to 3/4oz.  If heavier I'll switch to the other.

I will have a look at all the suggestions, thanks guys, cant wait to go shopping!!!

On the cheaper side of things. .... I use a 7'11" Abu veritas and an old blue quantum tour pro. It is a beast and light enough to work all day ( that's an assumption, I havent flipped an entire day with it yet) .

I have an older daiwa rod and reel that I use for 'light" flipping. (3/4-1oz- smaller baits- bb crickets, tubes, etc)

You may find you want/need two rigs. I did.

Guys, I have decided on a punching set up, it will be a Duckett Set up, Rod and reel, but the only agent in South Africa only stocks certain models and they cant get the set up that I want, any suggestions what I could do to get this set up?
