The Abu Garcia Cardinal 4. They were originally sold by Zebco, but manufactured by Abu Sweden.

 

From BSA,

"The reels, manufactured by ABU Sweden and sold by Zebco, became available to the U.S. market in roughly the 1969 time frame and by 1971, Zebco was in an all-out marketing war with Garcia and their French-made Mitchell. By the mid 70s the reel had become the most widely sought-after spinning reel in the country."

1969 was a great year. This reel his our shores, we landed on the moon and I was born. LOL

 

John, you forgot the most important thing in 1969. They launched......"The Brady Bunch"....lol.

My kids were addicted to that show, and still watch the reruns.

Sorry, I don't remember them, I was 3 in 1969. I do, however, remember the Brady Bunch.....
