Brent Christian Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Think im going to devote a whole year to jig fishing, i have never really fished a jig and to be honest i have only caught a couple fish on one. Any tips?
Super User deep Posted January 11, 2015 Super User Posted January 11, 2015 Good idea. Are we talking about fishing these on a long cast on the bottom (horizontal jigging) or short-line situations (flipping/ pitching)? 1
ChrisWi Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 There is a pinned thread all about jig fishing, lots of valueable info. Check it out
boostr Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 If your talking Jig and Craw, I flip and pitch them in or near the junk (stumps, laydowns). I try skipping them under over hangs, docks, low bridges, and in drainage pipes. I'll flip it and see if they take it on the fall or on the dead stick. I'll also do a hop, hop stop retrieve, and wait for the tap, This is when I get most of my strikes. The important thing I've learned is no matter how slight the tap or feeling is, set the hook. 1
