ak47soulja22 Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 If you live close to a BPS maybe try a carbonlite. Under a 100 Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted January 11, 2015 Super User Posted January 11, 2015 If you live close to a BPS maybe try a carbonlite. Under a 100 x2 but I'd wait if you can when the BPS Spring Classic Sale happens. I'm sure they will be on sale, probably will save 20% off. Quote

Super User new2BC4bass Posted January 11, 2015 Super User Posted January 11, 2015 Also check out Walmart's website. Sometimes have some very excellent buys. I got a Tatula rod for slightly under $90 plus tax. Free shipping to a local store. They also occasionally have heavy discounts on other rods as well. 1 Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted January 11, 2015 Super User Posted January 11, 2015 Daiwa Tatula 7'1" mh for $99 on amazon 2 Quote
Poolshark Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I have experience with the carbonlites and like them. Also the falcon bucoo is a solid choice. Mine has a lifetime warranty, which surprised me for the price. 1 Quote
ChrisWi Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Fenwick HMG for sure. A lot of good stuff about the *** too. Quote
SenkoGuru Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 *** are good rods also there is a sale right now on Quantum Smoke rods at $89.00 Those are very good rods for that price imo. If you can get a tatula for $100 it is a great rod. Duckett ghost rods are also pretty good. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted January 11, 2015 Super User Posted January 11, 2015 X4 on the Carbonlites. They surprised the heck out of me when I had one. Quote

Sonik Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 How is there not a stickied post for $100-200 rods and reels? Maybe one for "favorite flourocarbon" and "all about braid". There's a dozen posts on this every week. Opinions and information are not hard to find. Quote

Super User Sam Posted January 11, 2015 Super User Posted January 11, 2015 Although you are waaaaay out in Madison Heights how about planning a road trip to Richmond to attend the Richmond Fishing Expo at Meadow Park by Kings Dominion and then visit Green Top for their sale. The Expo and Green Top's sale is the weekend of January 16, 17 and 18. BPS usually has their winter sale at the end of February. At the Expo you can talk to rod builders and also see what rods are on sale. You can score a good rod that retails for over $100 at the Expo or Green Top for around $100. Good luck. Quote
