Duckett and Lews are manufactured by Doyo, and Quantum and *** reels are manufactured by Banax.

Yes, I am aware of this, thanks. The truth is still that they fish way different than the other reels listed IMO.  I Hate quantum because of the design and acs braking, they never seem to cast the same way twice. The duckett reels were ok but I don't know they didn't click with me. I liked everything about the *** *** and I enjoy Lew's reels very much. Having Said that I will stay a Daiwa Man.

If your talking casting distance i have a 5500c3 without the levelwind that i can consistantly throw 1 oz spooks all day long 150 180 yrds on a 7 foot uglystik and 10lb braid pretty accurate also

150-180 yards? That's pretty far...

The latest quantums have the same braking system as the 13s, same exact dial and everything. I personally don't like them because the the line guides pinches my thumb because it sticks out further than the front of the reel. I've also had good luck with the 13 reels, but I prefer Shimano and Daiwa as well.

If you are looking for a reel that will outcast a Curado 200E7 there are quite a few that will out perform them in casting distance alone, but if you look at every aspect of the reels performance, it is hard in a price range under about 250 to compete with the E series. Personally the best casting(not all around) reels I own are quantum kinetics, the ACS system I love, but if you do not have a good thumb it is not the reel for you. It has a heavy spool that is deep so it has lots of line capacity and maintains its speed for a long time. I have replaced the handles(stock are way to small) and bearings(hawgtech) on all of my Kinetics (3 of them) and with a 7' glass cranking rod and 12 lb YZ hybrid and a Rapala DT-10 I can cast most of the capacity of the spool, and with a 1/2 oz lipless crank its just silly the distance you get out of it.

I got mine for 60 off the bay... after all the upgrades its about 100-110 depending on the handle and bearings you put on it...

you are right about yourself !! no need to spend an arm or a leg to get a quality reel.

I know I shouldn't look at it this way, the price of $179.00 seems too cheep for a good reel
