Super User Jrob78 Posted January 10, 2015 Super User Posted January 10, 2015 Why not try the Curado I? 1 Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted January 10, 2015 Super User Posted January 10, 2015 Curado I Core 50 the list is endless between Shimano and Daiwa.. Quote

Super User aavery2 Posted January 10, 2015 Super User Posted January 10, 2015 Pick a reel in the 150 -200 price range and you would just about have to try to find a dud. Quote
BIGGUNZ Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 I know I shouldn't look at it this way, the price of $179.00 seems too cheep for a good reel 1 Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted January 10, 2015 Super User Posted January 10, 2015 As far as the "I" ? You should celebrate... Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted January 10, 2015 Super User Posted January 10, 2015 I know I shouldn't look at it this way, the price of $179.00 seems too cheep for a good reel Lol, Isn't that what the E series cost? 1 Quote

Super User lmbfisherman Posted January 11, 2015 Super User Posted January 11, 2015 I know I shouldn't look at it this way, the price of $179.00 seems too cheep for a good reel Interesting. I guess a "good reel" is subjective. IMO these are good reels and can be found under a 100 bucks: BPS Pro Qualifier and Citica G. They are solid work horse reels. 100 dollar price point imo is where you start seeing good quality baitcasting gear. Also, my Curado Gs casted just as well as my Es did so I'm sure the "I" would've been fine. Maybe you should've re-titled the heading...looking for a high end baitcaster that is better than Curado E and here is my budget. 1 Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I can part with my Curado 200E7. Send me a PM if you are interested. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted January 11, 2015 Super User Posted January 11, 2015 I'll admit the reel has a little to do with how far you can cast, but the rod, lure and bozo holding the rod have more. You don't need to spend $200 to get a reel that will cast more than far enough for just about any fishing situation. 1 Quote
Poolshark Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I think the new curado I or chronarch e would meet your needs. I just picked up my first lews bb1 and it casts as far as the curados.... Given you use the same rod line and lure. Quote
Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted January 11, 2015 Super User Posted January 11, 2015 If your talking casting distance i have a 5500c3 without the levelwind that i can consistantly throw 1 oz spooks all day long 150 180 yrds on a 7 foot uglystik and 10lb braid pretty accurate also 1 Quote

Super User HoosierHawgs Posted January 11, 2015 Super User Posted January 11, 2015 Anyone use a abu mgxtreme? Or lewsI use Lew's and they are good reels. If you want something to compare to your Shimano, I would go with a Lew's Team Lite or higher model. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Chronarch e7, lol. Ya they're somewhat similar. 1 Quote
Jaheff Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 A little TLC and TSI = 200E7 casting machine in my opinion. Quote
Cgrinder Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 It's hard to beat a 200E distance-wise, but I'm going to try. Step 1, Daiwa Zillion. Step 2, HLC spool. Totally necessary step 3: MB X4 Destruction. Hopefully I'll be putting 3/4 oz 'traps into orbit. No one tell my girlfriend. Quote
bootytrain Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I would go with any of this list: Daiwa Tatula, Shimano Curado I, Lew's BB1 Pro, *** Concept reels. those are all very nice reels. EDIT: I would stay away from Quantum reels and sadly the Duckett reels too. Duckett and Lews are manufactured by Doyo, and Quantum and *** reels are manufactured by Banax. Quote
