Pick a reel in the 150 -200  price range and you would just about have to try to find a dud.

I know I shouldn't look at it this way, the price of $179.00 seems too cheep for a good reel

Interesting.  I guess a "good reel" is subjective.  IMO these are good reels and can be found under a 100 bucks:  BPS Pro Qualifier and Citica G.  They are solid work horse reels.  100 dollar price point imo is where you start seeing good quality baitcasting gear.  Also, my Curado Gs casted just as well as my Es did so I'm sure the "I" would've been fine. Maybe you should've re-titled the heading...looking for a high end baitcaster that is better than Curado E and here is my budget.  :eyebrows:

I'll admit the reel has a little to do with how far you can cast, but the rod, lure and bozo holding the rod have more.  You don't need to spend $200 to get a reel that will cast more than far enough for just about any fishing situation.

I think the new curado I or chronarch e would meet your needs. I just picked up my first lews bb1 and it casts as far as the curados.... Given you use the same rod line and lure.

If you need to spend a bunch of money, go JDM. Get a great reel and an empty wallet at the same time.

I use Lew's and they are good reels. If you want something to compare to your Shimano, I would go with a Lew's Team Lite or higher model.

It's hard to beat a 200E distance-wise, but I'm going to try. Step 1, Daiwa Zillion. Step 2, HLC spool. Totally necessary step 3: MB X4 Destruction. Hopefully I'll be putting 3/4 oz 'traps into orbit.

No one tell my girlfriend.

I would go with any of this list: Daiwa Tatula, Shimano Curado I, Lew's BB1 Pro, *** Concept reels. those are all very nice reels.

EDIT: I would stay away from Quantum reels and sadly the Duckett reels too.

Duckett and Lews are manufactured by Doyo, and Quantum and *** reels are manufactured by Banax.
