Super User kickerfish1 Posted January 10, 2015 Super User Posted January 10, 2015 Not a fan of watermelon red. Green pumpkin black flake or other variations of green pumpkin would be my preference. Quote
fisherrw Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Green pumpkin is my go to soft plastic color Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted January 11, 2015 Super User Posted January 11, 2015 For me it is a matter of water clarity. The clearer the water the more translucent the skirt. Quote
wnybassman Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 There is Watermelon Red Magic. It has black, red, gold, green, purple, and blue flakes that the fish can analyze and bite which color they like best. LOL Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted January 11, 2015 Super User Posted January 11, 2015 I feel presenting the bait properly is way way way more important then color. Very true , color of an unnatural baits is secondary to the action you are giving the bait ... Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 11, 2015 Global Moderator Posted January 11, 2015 Watermelon colors-clear water/sunny conditions Green pumpkin-clear to stained water/cloudy or low light conditions and yes I've seen times where it made a HUGE difference which one I was using. Quote
Alpha Male Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I have some of both and have caught fish with both. The bait I catch the most fish with is a kvd magnum dreamshot in Brown purple. But I always have both green pumpkin and watermelon red I many different types of worms. Quote
mjseverson24 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 if I am imitating a crawfish I like the Watermelon/red more as often they have some red/orange color on them. If I am imitating a baitfish/bluegill I like the GP and a lot of times with a little bit of blue or purple mixed in... Mitch Quote
