Like the title says I'm looking at one of these rods in 6'6-7' for cranking and jerkbait fishing. I have the opportunity to get the rage under a hundred and I didn't know if the ghost was in comparison. Thanks

I have a Rage I use for jerkbaits. I like the grip because it works well with a pair of gloves on.

never fished them, but felt them both in hand and would buy the rage over the ghost just based on feel and looks in store.  whatever that's worth to you....

Thanks for the replies. I have a micro majic from duckett and I like it but I'm not stuck on one brand. For a 150 dollar rod for less than 100 it might be good gamble .

I have never fished a Rage rod before, so I don't know anything about them. I can tell you that the Duckett Ghost rod will fish WAY better than it feels in the store. When I bought my first Ghost rod's I bought the 7'6 X-hvy and the 6'10 Medium Ghost. I am a pretty big Duckett fan (Rod's only don't like the reels) and I just didn't like the way the Ghost felt. Well the next day we are off to the lake and by the end of the day I was VERY happy with the two Ghost rod's.  I bought mine for $75 (7'6) and $65 (6'10) from a local store that was going out of business.  I thought they were a very good purchase.  If you like the Micro Magic you will also like the Ghost but if you do not like the Micro magic, well you will not like the Ghost either.

I really like the Rage's handle, it's a nice break from the skinny split handles on a lot of rods. That said, the Ghost feels like a dream in your hand, noticeably lighter than the Rage, and it's said to be a great performer, too.

They're both made by good companies, and I don't think you could go wrong with either.

I was reading that the ghost guides have been a problem and that some reels won't set right with the handle? Anyone else read that?

I've seen post about the rage where they have snapped but there are so many variables to that I don't see an issuse.

The argument on China and Mexico I guess it's a flip of the coin I think. I have had stuff made all over the world and even USA have some sort of failure.

I'm leaning towards the Rage, unless there is another rod that can compete at that 100$ range.

look on ebay right now, I know there are a bunch of micro magic's (not the pro) brand new for around $100- $110 from the Simmons sporting goods ebay store. I've bought a few from them and they've been great. So you can get a micro magic for the price of a ghost. free shipping too

ive never tried the rage, but I love my avid x, much more than my micro magic's.

Had the Rage and it snapped as I was practicing flipping in my living room. I do honestly feel that I had a dud but I did not buy another and just got a LTB.

Along those lines, I wish they didn't use clear epoxy around the guides because it does show how crooked the are sometimes. I couldn't find another to replace without some kind of flaw. Must of looked at a bad batch because I have heard nothing but great things on them.

The rage was $150 at the time which was a little over a week and a half ago. I really like the mojo series which I do have as well.
