BIG M Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Here are some Hedd Hunter copies, a Big O style, and a little light flat sides bait. Quote
ernel Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Sweet as usal. 8-) I just dont see how you turn out as many lures as you do. I might turn 3-4 in a week and that is if I don't work for 1/2 the week. Quote
Fish Man Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 you continue to impress, they all look awesome Quote
BIG M Posted December 21, 2007 Author Posted December 21, 2007 ernel, I carve at night and sand at lunch. I can have 6 baits ready for hardware and sealing a day, I get a long lunch. I paint in the evening after work when my 2yr old lets me. thanks for the kind words. Quote
HogHooker Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 New to the forum, joined because i make baits aswell, i'm into poppers cus they're the easiest, your cranks look awsome. How do u keep the bill in them (what kind of adhiesive?) and do u weight them? Quote
BIG M Posted December 21, 2007 Author Posted December 21, 2007 Hog, the bills are epoxied in with devcon 5min. I drill anchor point in the back of the bills and you can't pull 1 out unless you tear the bait apart. Quote
HogHooker Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 very nice. ur baits look awsome, i'm gonna have to stop using a detail brush and go to the air brush. i went through the archives and all ur cranks look rediculous, awsome colours, cool colour schemes and bait construction looks awsome. Mabey i need a lesson from the best. Quote
BIG M Posted December 21, 2007 Author Posted December 21, 2007 I do appreciate the kind words but I'm far from the best when it comes to painting. I know some guys that blow my baits out of the water. the airbrush is the way to go for painting your baits. It just takes a little practice to get the hang of it. I'll help any way I can. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted December 22, 2007 Super User Posted December 22, 2007 Very nice as usual. How thick is the bill on that second one? It looks a little thicker than usual. Quote
LakeAnnaBasser Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I need to practice airbrushing more often. Quote
HogHooker Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 thank you verymuch, i will keep in touch Quote
BIG M Posted December 24, 2007 Author Posted December 24, 2007 Hookem, that is 1/16 thick polycarbonate. I don't use it much anymore, kind of a pain to cut and shape. Quote
Stringjam Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Marty definitely has a knack for color selection......I think this is beautiful!! Quote
