Hey all!  Looking for recommendations for a 10-12 foot pond/small lake boat with some frills (light for night fishing, compartments for storage, rod holders etc, hard cover or something that will last the whole season and keep pinestraw and rain out).  My father in law has a 10' Bass Raider 10e but every year by winter the pontoons are filled up with water so he's ready to sell and move up.  I'm usually pretty good at researching but I'm striking out trying to find something.  I've come across the Sundolphin Pro 120 (which seems ALMOST perfect, just a LITTLE more than we were hoping to spend.)  We were hoping to stay at or around $1,200 on the boat (accessories can be added later).  Any other boats like the Sundolphin that I should consider?  Thanks in advance!

Those Sundolphins are nice! I looked at those,

BPS pond prowlers, and such at one point in

time.

You could look at this model, or some of the

Bass Hunters in the side columns (they show up

there for me).

But I'm a kayak fisherman at this point in my life.

It's really tough finding something that small with storage as I've found out myself the dolphin is about the only one I know of that has storage unless you can find a converted jon boat or make something yourself ... Good Luck

If you're looking at buying new that sun dolphin pro 120 is the only option for what you're looking at. But like I said the bass tender 11.3 is very similar and a great boat

It's the same boat from the same company. It seems like they change the name every few years. They were Bass Hounds for a while and then Bass Tenders, and now Sun Dolphins. If you google it it'll show up as the page title on their site.

To answer OP's question, just look for a used one. I had the 10.2 model and it was a great little boat. there's really not much that can go wrong with them as long as they don't leak. I've seen them as cheap as a few hundred dollars. The material doesn't wear out so even if it's from back in the 90's I wouldn't shy away from them as long as they don't leak.

My bps bantam 2x is a 1987 model and still works like a champ! I bought it off of craigslist from a guy that had it laying in his backyard. I store it outside still, but I at least prop it up against the shed.
