bmadd Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 I have a few baits that I am modifying and would like to change the paint scheme. I have no means to justify buying an airbrush yet so I was wondering what I needed to look for in rattle cans. All lures are plastic and will be coated in Devcon afterwards. Braden Quote
Super User Munkin Posted December 24, 2007 Super User Posted December 24, 2007 All the rattle cans I have tried work just do not mix different types of paint!!! The ones at Wal-Mart for $1 in the blue can work, I think they are auto primer or something? Allen Quote
BIG M Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 bmadd, I would not clear those baits with devcon. It adds weight and bulk to the bait and can cause plastic baits to loose the action or even sink. Get a can of high gloss polyurathane and give the baits about 5 coats and let dry 48 hrs after the 5th coat. Quote
bmadd Posted December 25, 2007 Author Posted December 25, 2007 Thanks for that tip bigm...I appreciate the help with the learning curve. Quote
