Super User HoosierHawgs Posted January 20, 2015 Super User Posted January 20, 2015 Here is my current sled. Nice setup you got there! 3 Quote
odell015 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I fish from a feelfree moken 10 lite. I chose this platform mostly because it is lite and easy to move. I have added a crate with rod holder, made a pvc gopro pole, lowrance elite 4 dsi, hummingbird 12v battery, ram x mount for camera or phone. I paddle with a bending branches angler pro. I am able to stand despite not having a standing platform, but its sketchy at times I have a bass boat also, but theres nothign like stealthing up on some bass in a kayak. I absolutely Love kayak fishing!!! If there are any connecticut plastic navy out there hit me up. 1 Quote
Brick Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I've got a ride 135. I love this boat. It is heavy as hell, and a workout to paddle, but I doubt there is a more stable kayak on the market. I use this thing for fishing everywhere. I have even hit class III-IV rapids in this thing while loaded with camping/fishing gear. A smaller person would probably love the ride 115. The 115 is probably easier to handle in rapids. This boat has so much weight capacity that I have paddled across a lake with a 200 lb buddy standing in the back storage area. We were taking on water back there, but if i put scuppers in, it would have been fine. lol. Thing is a tank. Upgrades -Humminbird 698 SI fishfinder - ghetto rigged anchor trolly that I use with an anchor and a sand spike. You can see it attached on the right side of the kayak. -No crate because I throw my 50 lb dog in the back storage a lot of times. -Permanently attached lure retriever Quote
flipin4bass Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Here is my current sled. Like this Yak! Quote
Jay Ell Gee Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 A few years back, I actually won a Pescador 12 in a raffle. I really enjoyed it and even caught my PB bass from it (see avatar)! However, I wanted a bit bigger yak and ended up getting a Native Ultimate 14.5 for bass and inshore saltwater fishing. I borrowed a big rig and went redfishing last week. I see one in my near future. 3 Quote

The more I'm on it the more I like it.It tracks well is relatively fast and I can stand and fish from it. Definitely digging it. Quote

I also had a trident prowler 15, fast kayak but overall I prefer the length of the T13. My wife has a T11 right now, and that is pretty slick in the water too. Glad your happy with the T13! 1 Quote
massrob Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I just went to see the kayak I'm going to buy. It's a ride 115 and it's all rigged up already with a Lowrance elite 4 and I'm going to get a nice life vest and paddle. The kayak and fish finder is 850. The rest of the stuff brings it to 1100 altogether. There's a few other things. I think I'm getting a good deal. It looks brand new. I can't wait to get my kayak finally. This is gonna be awesome. 1 Quote

Yes, that is certainly a fair price for a fully rigged 115. I think you will love it. Congrats! Quote
basshead1 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I have a Jackson Cruise 12 for my main ride and an Ascend FS10 for them cold days or if I have a guest. Both are great kayaks. I did have a Perception Pescador 12 which was a great kayak but it caused major butthurt and backhurt for me after a few hours in it. Quote
kjfishman Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I fish out of a 2000 Old Town Loon 138. I added 2 rod holders behind the seat and an anchor trolly. 15 years old scrapped up on the bottom but doesn't leak a drop of water. For its 15th birthday I made a small wood deck to mount a fish finder and another rod holder in front. The transducer and battery are behind the seat. The rear rod mounts are recessed and the front is a surface mount with a 1" spacer to raise it up a little. Quote
atcoha Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 My jackson cruise kayaks... Getting ready to get them off the stands and use them...been awhile. 2 Quote

Super User rippin-lips Posted March 16, 2015 Super User Posted March 16, 2015 Decided to finish my crate today since it was warm out and I ordered a new kayak to sit it in. A 2014 ride 115x advanced angler will be arriving in the next 7-10 days. Pretty excited about it. 5 Quote
dwong Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Sweet! Congrats on the new boat. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it when you get a chance to play around with it. It's at the top of my list and i'm almost ready to pull the trigger. Do any of you guys frog pitch or punch mats from a kayak? Theres a small local reservoir thats perfect for kayaks and fishing these techniques. I can easily imagine falling over easily on a hookset punching heavy mats. Quote

Standing in a kayak only takes a little getting used to. It's really not the big deal people make it out in their minds to be. Practice, practice, practice. Quote
Jiggy With It Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Yes and yes. Any technique you can do from a boat you can adapt to a kayak. Standing in a kayak only takes a little getting used to. It's really not the big deal people make it out in their minds to be. Practice, practice, practice. Depends on the yak'. I have 2 sit in's, both Perceptions and I wouldn't stand in them in 2ft of water and I'm 5'11 170lbs. I've stood up in several other kayaks without any issue. It's completely up to the kayak & user. If you have the proper setup standing is a non-issue. Quote
Team_Dougherty Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I have a Ocean Kayak Prowler Big Game. The only thing I added is the center hatch 4 Quote
atcoha Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Next to a toy hauler, that looks like a perfect retirement present for me.... Great setup! Thanks. That was last year, spring break, we went down to crystal river. Had a good time, except for the wind was blowing 15-25 EVERY day, did not get to use them much on that trip. Headed to port st. joe next week. Have added some gear, blackpack, park-n-poles,more rod holders, different yak carrier setup, those jracks were too much of a problem on my truck, too high. Went with the yakima sweet rolls...could not be happier. 1 Quote
