Just wanted to get your opinion of powell rods, more specifically casting models from the max and up. I am normally a shimano/loomis fan, but poor customer service and shimano dropping the lifetime warranty has turned me away. Any help would be appreciated!

I don't know much about them, about six months ago, somebody posted in another forum a web site had Powell rods on sale.

Ordered a Powell diesel, heavy action rod, an glad I did. Great rod!

Hate to order something like that online., would rather feel it in hand first

Hopefully others will chime in.

But in my opion only, I enjoy my Powell

My friend has a crankbait model which he loves they are decent rods for the money if you get them on sale.

I personally love powell rods, have 3 of them, 2 diesels and one endurance...

I have an Inferno and Max 3D, haven't been able to catch a fish on them yet, but got to drag a jig around on the max 3d and its very sensitive, crisp feeling too. I have not used other rods in this price range but i am very impressed

Absolutely love the Max and Endurance rods I own and can not wait to try out the new 3D rods once the ice goes away.

I have 5 Powell Max rods, 4 casting & 1 spinning. I've fished these rods pretty hard for the last 5 or 6 years with absolutely zero issues. I'm still fishing them today but I've started to slowly gather a new "set" of rods from a different brand. I would've more than likely stayed with Powell had the new Max 3D line been available at the time I decided I "needed" new rods but they weren't hence my move to a different brand.

I've been very satisfied with my Powell rods and wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend them to anyone. I've since handled a few of the new Max rods and I'm very impressed by them. If I were looking into new Powell's these would definitely be the line I'd be looking at from them. I'm not a big fan of any of their rod series below the Max though, just a personal preference thing.

I bought 11 last year and have 4 more on order, 8 endurance and 7 max 3d's. Love the endurance series, wish they still made them. The max 3d's aren't far behind either. Great rods for the price. Be sure to shop around, certain places have really good multi rod discounts.

Thanks for the input. I'm not sold on any brand just yet, I just want a quality Rod with a good warranty. If you all have any other preferences I'm open to suggestions.

Send a PM to wdycrankbait.

Woody has a bunch of Powell Rods.

I've got 3. The older diesel, the older max, and the endurance. All great rods for the price in my opinion.

My nephew has a few Powell's, he brought a Diesel spinning with him last summer and I reeled in a 20" Flounder with no probems, We were using way more weight than the blank lists and no problems.

I own 4 endurance series, 3 regular max series, and 4 of the TW exclusive max series. Love them all! I own st. Cross, dobyns, Shimano, phenix, and falcon rods too, but seem to always pick up my powells first.

I've got 2 powells an endurance 775 casting and a Max 703 spinning.  They are ok rods but I prefer my Loomis, Shimano and Dobyns over the Powells.

I own 2 endurances a 714 casting & a 6103 spinning& they are the best rods I've ever used. I haven't fished many high dollar rods but they are my two favorites out of the ones I have. light, extremely sensitive,it balances nearly perfectly with a 7oz reel(the 714)& good craftsmanship(one guide is a little crooked on the 714). I guess my biggest complaints about them is the finish is a little weak,(i have two nicks on the blank of my 714)& the crooked guide but I can get over that. other than that they're awesome rods. Haven't had to use the warranty yet& am hoping I don't have to but I hear their customer service is really good.

I have one Powell Endurance, a 714 I use for jigs.  Love the rod, would definitely buy again/more.

Fortunately, I have not had to deal with Powell's warranty, but I would recommend their rods to anyone.

I love my endurance's. The balance point of each is perfect. I like the endurance better than the max. Sadly those 2 series have been grouped together now and we have the max 3d. I've talked with Keith and he said the new series is even a bit better than the endurance's. New blank design. However I've had to find a new rod company to go with on any future buys. I don't like the looks of the 3d series, and I f I'm spending almost $200 or more on a rod I wanna like everything about it. You can find the old models on sale from different places. The endurance is hard to beat for the money. I still have 3 of them in my rotation. I've been through my fair share of rods too. TW had them for $118 a few weeks back. I've spoken with a few members on here that needed some questions answered. They all have been glad they made the purchase.
