I have an old crankin stick and it is pretty rad.  Bass Pro Rods are normally pretty good, and so I would expect they have just gotten better.  That being said, I have 2 Veritas Rods that I love (Not the cranking rods though).  Anyway, I dont think you could go wrong either way.  That being said, I would probably go with the Crankin Stick. Its $20 cheaper and I just dont see that you can really go wrong with them.

Micro guides on rods at this price point scare me.

Same here. I hear too many people say they are not as durable as regular guides

Sorry, let me be more specific. The new crankin stick which is actually $20 MORE than the Veritas.

I'd get the new phenix maxium but my second choice would be the veritas.

Ok, good deal.  Bass Pro has 2 Crankin Sticks. A micro guide and a standard guide. The Standard guide is $80 and the Micro Guide is $120. I have not used a micro guide so I cant really comment on them.  Anyway, I  hope you enjoy the rod you choose!  Im sure they are both good. Probably will be happy with either.

I have the veritas 2.0 winch medium power and I love it. It casts really well. I do notice that the deep divers over power the action a bit but it handles shallow squarebills and 5/8 oz medium divers 6-worth really well. If you want it for deeper I would suggest the med-hvy version.

Honestly I'm probably gonna go for Veritas. You know why? 3 year warranty. I've already replaced two Veritas rods with them (not a good track record I know) but both times it was well over one year and If it was a bass pro rod I'd be out a lot of money.

But these new crankin sticks that came out seem very appealing so I thought I'd ask to see if someone had amazing things to say about them.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Not dissuade you but I have the 2.0 because my original veritas lost the tip guide insert. As it was they were easy to deal with and for the cost of shipping I had a brand new 2.0.

On a side note I also had a pinnacle rod tip break and they were even better to deal with. Awsome cs from them. They just asked me to ship the part of the rod back with the specs written on it so they knew it wasn't a scam. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

I have the Veritas 7'6" MH winch, it is a nice rod for mid to deep cranking with 5xd and 6xd sized baits, I like it.

I have both a Premier 7' MH crankbait rod (graphite) for all around, as well as a Mojo glass 7'8" (fiberglass) for deep cranks. Love both of them.

I don't have experience with the veritas winch, but it is probably comparable to others in its price range. Based on my opinions of the mojo, I would HIGHLY recommend the 7'4" mojo glass; I think it's a good compromise to cover both medium and deep divers. In addition, the glass loads up with less effort to cast long distances, compared to graphite.

I own both in 7' - M/F and like the Veritas better.

They're both light and sensitive; the Veritas isn't as whippy and loads up better, subjectively.

Like other members said already: you can't really go wrong with either.

If possible, go handle both of them at your local shops.
