Well I finally pulled the trigger and bought a new depth finder. I'm very excited to get it mounted up and take it out on the water and get familiar with it. With that being said I've never installed a transducer and don't really like the idea of just drilling holes in my boat lol. I've done some research but can't find much, can I just use the holes from my current mount? Any type of special sealant i need to use? Any information is a huge help! Thanks in advance

The mount bracket may or may not match your current screw holes.

If you are concerned with drilling holes, just attach a transducer mount board to the boat and then attach the transducer to that.

SternMate is one option.

Some use a plastic cutting board cut to size.

Some marine supply companies carry mount boards too.

Seal the holes and screws with 3M 4200

The main thing about mounting transducers is read the installation instuctions and understand what they mean as applied to your boat.

Without knowing much about what you have and what you're going to install, it's hard to say. Follow Wayne P's advice posted above, good advice for sure

I agree with the 3M 4200 - I think that's what I used on my last install, great stuff.
