Megastink Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I'm meeting my buddy from Idaho on Clear Lake the weekend of April 3rd. We've never been, and haven't fished together in five or six years. He pulling his Stratos down and were heading out. Neither of us have been there before, so I'm looking for some helpful hints, areas to try, baits, etc. according to my research, everyone says "swim baits and prespawn". But I'd like more specifics. Anyone, please lend a brother a hand. Thanks! Quote
fisherrw Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I have never fished Clear Lake but have freinds that have... I would throw buzz baits and frogs on the early morning then use swimbaits to target specific depths. Quote
Supermat Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Come on out! Clearlake is an awesome fishery. As the time draws closer feel free to contact me and I'll try to key you guys into the bite a little bit. This far out, any info you get will just be generalities. 1 Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted January 4, 2015 Super User Posted January 4, 2015 Haven't been there for a number of years but I loved throwing tubes that time of year around docks. Flipping around tules was good too. I preferred the west end of the lake by far. Have fun Quote
benthinkin Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 fish the keys with texas rigged white grubs or senkos or jigs, pretty much anything you can skip under docks. Quote
