Wow, so many setups, so many opinions!

My preference is a rod no longer than 6'6" as I do

a lot of close-quarter fishing from the yak. And I

get acceptable distance (acceptable to me) with

that length.

I use anything from ML-M casting with Shimano

Chronarch 50e reels for weightless and weighted

senko/knock-off wacky rigged mostly.

On the spinning side, I've got MXF rods from 5'9"

to 6'6" with Shimano Stradic 1000FI reels, and one

Daiwa Lexa 2000SH.

I don't really have technique-specific combos. Just

combos that do whatever I need them to.

I fish 5" weightless Senko's on a 7-3 MH/f micro magic on 17lb flours with a lews tourney pro 7:1.1, but might switch it over to a 7' MH/f avid x, just because I like the avid x better, but I do like the longer rod. In really heavy cover ill fish it on a 7'4 H/F avid x, but my lakes don't have really heavy cover so I don't fish it on that as much. Wacky rigged Senko's on a 7' M/F avid x spinning rod with 12lb braid to a 8another sitelouro leader with a team lews gold spinning reel. I will fish it on a Carolina rig with a mono leader when I'm fishing deep, I seem to get solid bites with that in deep water.
