Blues19 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Anyone use any of these? I have not held one, but I believe there is a store a few towns over that has some. I hear they are sensitive and light but I would really appreciate someone on Bassresource's opinion before i go out and spend that kind of money on a rod. Anyone tried them? Quote

Dont know about them but wallyworld has them for $85-109 so a bit less than list. Walmart also has the Helios for less than C3-40X lists. I got a Helios for $110 Cant tell you anything about them Ive only practice cast mine a few times. http://www.walmart.com/ip/19341889?action=product_interest&action_type=title&placement_id=irs_top&strategy=PWVUB&visitor_id=DdGqup4N36THyDLdIxEUQ0&category=&client_guid=5b999f16-645d-49d5-81ee-e0c27473b81a&customer_id_enc=&config_id=2&parent_item_id=19341889&guid=796394b5-2374-472e-bb66-c7163e2bc1c4&bucket_id=irsbucketdefault&beacon_version=1.0.0&findingMethod=p13n&productRedirect=true Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 2, 2015 Super User Posted January 2, 2015 We tested several Okuma rods & reels and were VERY impressed. This is my review with links to others: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/tournament-rod-reel-okuma.html Quote
Kidflex Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Can't go wrong with the c3 rods. Very light and sensitive. Can be had for less than a bill on the bay. Okuma has had a bad rep in the years past but their top tier stuff is quite good. Quote
Penguino Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Sorry for starting up a old thread, but I have this rod and feel entitled to share a unbiased review on it. I will just say that they are flat amazing. With braid, I can feel every little tap on my lure, even tiny sunfish trying to hit the back of my worm. Also, the components in this rod are really good, as I have banged it a bunch of times, and no signs of excessive wear or tear (knock on wood). Also, the TW reviews stating of how the rod brakes near the tips are complete misinformation or bad fishing teqhnique. I have set the hook rock solid on a 4 pound bass with braid on the fast action rod with no problemo. Also, you can commonly find these rods for 100$ or so on amazon. Only gripe I have with the rod is that the reel seat isn't for everyone. Some like it, some don't. So good luck, and hope this helps. 1 Quote
