Super User Angry John Posted January 2, 2015 Super User Posted January 2, 2015 Started looking around the house for a place to practice pitching. I know if I brake something I will never hear the end of it. Tried to fish on Monday and gave up three hours in almost frozen. Temps in the twenties my southern blood has me hiding inside. 2 Quote
RSM789 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 It has been 4 days since I was on the water, I am going crazy. I am going to try to hold off until Saturday, in order to hit the water on the 3rd day of rising temperatures (with a near full moon thrown in for good measure). It will be tough going until the morning temps pass 55 degrees... Before you cuss me out, remember I have to put up with high real estate prices and a bunch of annoying people in order to enjoy this climate. 1 Quote
corn-on-the-rob Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 yes. Only about 60 more days until I get my lines wet. Worst part is all of the equipment and lures I bought after the season ended I haven't got to try out yet. And of course all of the reading and videos watched I just can't wait... Quote
Alpha Male Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 after 2 orders from tackle warehouse, 2 trips over 45 miles to cabelas, and a countless of hours of youtube fishing videos...yeah....only 4 months til ice out 6 Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Nope! not when you have a winter steelhead run and awesome perch fishing through the ice. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted January 2, 2015 Super User Posted January 2, 2015 Uh, yea! 26 Dec was a freak day @ 58* now it's 19*... Oh I hate the cold now.. Single digit temps next week, but not before 60* on sat. W/2" of rain. That's the Ohio Valley for ya... Quote

Super User gardnerjigman Posted January 2, 2015 Super User Posted January 2, 2015 I'm going nuts... We are froze up here. Hoping a buddy calls before long to hit a power plant lake Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted January 2, 2015 Super User Posted January 2, 2015 Cabin Fever sets in for me once the fall bite slows in mid November... So I have trout, a power plant lake, crappies, and the occasional brrrr bass to keep me somewhat sane until the crazy March-April weather when bass are catch-able but unpredictable due to flooding, cold snaps, and pressure changes. 1 Quote

Tried to fish on Monday and gave up three hours in almost frozen. Temps in the twenties my southern blood has me hiding inside. You and me both! This Kansas weather doesn't sit well with my Texan blood. I was pitching under our kitchen chairs the other day, when I hit a cross bar on one of them. Suddenly, my wife's head just poked around the wall and stared at me for about 3-4 seconds (felt more like an hour). So needless to say, I moved the chair and kept on pitchin! 2 Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted January 2, 2015 Super User Posted January 2, 2015 It is just starting to set in. It seems always after the Holidays I start to get Cabin Fever. In order to tide me over for the next few months, I'll be doing a lot of research, re-spool lines, clean rods and reels, inventory of my tackle, make a list for upcoming Spring Classic, check a lot of reviews, plan my outings for the year and do lots of posting on Bass Resource. 2 Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted January 2, 2015 Super User Posted January 2, 2015 Focusing on school helps, it's kinda hard to concentrate on Alegbra during the spawn . Quote

Super User DogBone_384 Posted January 2, 2015 Super User Posted January 2, 2015 Yep, starting to creep in. Haven't skiied yet either - March will come quickly. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted January 2, 2015 Super User Posted January 2, 2015 Clean the reels, rearrange the tackle bag, and sharpening hooks. That should take me through mid February. Quote
Jtrout Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I got a little river by my house never freezes and I catch fall fish on bait and lures in the winter. They are 12-15 inches long but are fun to catch. 2 Quote
desmobob Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 It's the "in between" season here in upstate NY. Wrapped the boat up for the winter back at the end of November and I'm still waiting for the big lakes to freeze up good so I can go ice fishing. Tight lines, Bob Quote
