You made a commitment to the school, team and yourself.

So go out there and do your best, win or lose.

This will probably be your last chance to roll around on a mat with another guy and not get into trouble!!!

Now strap up and go out there and put some guy on his fanny!!!

Happy New Year!

I guarantee that ten years from now you will be VERY proud that you finished this season.

Good luck and get after it!

Stay the course, young Padawan.  The choices you make now will establish a pattern for you for the rest of your life.  There are many times in a man's life when he wants to quit.  Whether it's a tough college course, a crappy job (that he needs), a rough patch in a marriage...even life itself can become overwhelming at times and some feel tempted to pack it in.  If it's something worth fighting for, winners don't quit.  They embrace the challenge and forge ahead through the fire and come out stronger and smarter on the other side.  A month and a half of your life is NOTHING (even though it may seem like an eternity now).  Ask yourself this...."2 months from now will I be happy I wrestled or will I regret it?"  Unless you somehow are able to foresee an injury or it could compromise your health, the answer to this question is very clear.  Learn now to be a winner....a guy that can be depended upon...a guy that sticks to his obligations.  That guy will get taken advantage of once in a while as he goes though life but that guy will ALWAYS be a winner.

Be that guy

Best of luck C&G. Staph infections can be very dangerous. I hope it all goes well for you.

Yeah I take it very seriously, people don't realize how dangerous it is. I always take antibacterial soap with me on our wrestling trips but the one time I forget it I end up getting staph infection in multiple places, but I took antibiotics and it is visually gone but I need to go see the doctor to make sure so I don't spread it around the team...

Its the second time I've gotten staph from wrestling, just my luck haha

In response to a previous commentor. As well as to your question.

Be an individual. You owe no one nothing and you owe your self nothing. No one ever owes anyone or anything a thing.

I had the same problem you are having. I wrestled multiple seasons a year from fifth grade through high school. Senior year came around and I was burned out on it. I st u c it out and had fun with it. I stopped caring whether I lost or won. I used it to try new stuff that I was afraid to try before. It ended up paying dividends for me. In that I had more fun that season then I ever had before. Not worrying about how I did and what all happened took all the stress and pressure of of me. The choice is yours to make. Have fun and live your life. In another couple months you will have nothing but free time to fish and do what you enjoy. I say enjoy the last few months of it cause it is gone very quickly.

Stick it out!  You're part of a team.

We all lose our passion for things sometimes, but it's the dedicated folks that still give it their all who succeed!

Best of luck,

Bob

I agree with most of the comments. You joined that team and are now a part of it. Rather than quit I think you should give it your best and stay with it to the end. And if you decide to never wrestle again once this season is over, that is fine, as there are plenty of other things to do out there, but don't start something and then not finish it. Now is a good time to take that bull by the horns and make the rest of the reason the best you can. Go for it!

So, you are tired of getting sweaty, lifting weights, running, starving yourself/taking other actions to make weight and rolling around on mats with other guys.  I can't imagine why.   Jimmy the Cricket told Pinocchio "Let your conscience be your guide"  That is still good advice, even if it is coming from a fictional character.  Basically you are asking other people to offer opinions on a decision that only you can make.

I don't starve myself and nobody else on the team does ethier, I eat whatever I want and still make weight. You don't have to starve yourself to be on a wrestling team like a lot of people think....
