cyclops2 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Any fish in it there ? Was great 30 years ago. Quote
Megastink Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Oh yea there are! I fish for largemouth in the tidal delaware, below Trenton. And I grew up fishing Pine County, Pa for smallmouth. It's still a healthy fishery. Great smallmouth water. Quote
cyclops2 Posted January 1, 2015 Author Posted January 1, 2015 Thank you Megastink. Where I am the amount of roadway stones has Eliminated all the weed beds. Almost like a crushed stone bottom. 30 years ago I launched right above Philadelphia & found great reed islands. Fantastic bass & Channel Cats there. Rich Quote
Megastink Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 They're still there. Bass don't need grass to survive. They're hard cover relaters now, particularly wood. I'm speaking of the tidal section of course. I fish big current breaks above Trenton. Bridges, points. There are some good grass beds around pike county. Quote

Yes, especially if you head upstream, the stretch between the Musconetcong down stream is a great Striper fishery(especially after trout stockings), but keep it on the low down, there's already too many boats out there ; ) Quote
Dogmatic Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Yes, smallies, too, and toothy critters as well.☺ Quote
