blongfishing Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I really hate doing this but I used a different boat and I didn't have my scale. How big do you think it is? It was caught out of Lake Russell in Georgia. Quote

It was caught out of Lake Russell in Georgia. image.jpg Nice looking fish. I wouldn't dare venture a guess as to weight, but can offer one piece of advice when you find yourself in this position in the future. People will be able to judge the size of your fish if you learn to put something of a known size in the picture with your fish. For example, a dollar bill is approximately 6" long, and laid on top of the fish would give you a sense of scale in comparison. 2 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted December 31, 2014 Super User Posted December 31, 2014 I'd guess around 4# as well. Did you measure the length or girth? Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted December 31, 2014 Super User Posted December 31, 2014 big head, skinny body. i'd say 4 pounds myself. Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted December 31, 2014 Super User Posted December 31, 2014 Greater than 1lb, less than 10lbs. Quote

I have marks on my rods at 20 & 25", gives me a good idea of the length, I don't carry a scale. Quote
Super User Scott F Posted January 1, 2015 Super User Posted January 1, 2015 You will never know how much that fish weighed. But does it really matter? What difference would it make if you knew? Obviously, you're curious, but forget about it, get a scale, and go catch another one. 2 Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted January 2, 2015 Super User Posted January 2, 2015 When in doubt... take a piece of line and cut it to the length of the fish and then the same for girth. You can measure them later and use the calculator to get a good idea of weight. Quote
RSM789 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Just a smidge under 11 lbs. ..... if you weighed it on Jupiter. I believe that the space shuttle does have a livewell. Quote
