I guess it all depends on what kind of crankbait you want ... deep diver, shallow diver, mid-diver, suspender, or lipless.

I'll give you my input on a lipless crankbait.  I do a lot of fishing with lipless crankbaits and alot of it has been with rattlin rapalas, which are great lures.  These crankbaits will run true and straight as fast or as slow as you bring them in.  You can also fish them at any depth.

Although in the past couple of months I have discovered a new love.  The Yo-zuri Rattlin Vibe.. This lure has a very loud rattle and serves very well as a search/reaction bait.  Although this lure cost a few extra bucks its worth it in my eyes..  I could probably give you some input about some other styles of crankbaits  i.e. deepdivers .. ect but I have not yet gotten a handle on fishing them myselp.  GOOD LUCK!

Use what gives you confidence.  I switch from $10 Daiwa lipless crankbaits to $4 Speed Traps.  Fish don;t care what you spend on your lures. :)

No.  On days bass want a Lucky Craft, I catch just as many fish as I do on the days they want a Bandit.  I guess a better question would be do they want a Lucky Craft more often...and I think they do, solely because they haven't seen as many.  It is a more consistent crankbait than any of the other cranks I own.  That is strickly my opinion.  A lot of people will comment on paint, build quality, etc., which we all know is better...but most want to know if they catch more fish.   When a bait is hot...it's hot, and if fish are on the Lucky Craft I sure wouldn't want to be without one...the same goes for a bomber Fat A, etc.

I have been a heavy crankbait user from the time I got started and have caught fish on countless brands, styles and colors. Basically, my most expensive baits are Rapala Shad Raps and I've never had any desire to try LC or other more expensive brands.

I'm sure they're great baits, but my cranks are such good baits that I have full confidence that I can maximize my catch with them if I can learn better ways to locate fish and present my baits.

Would I catch more on LCs? I'll never know, but I'd buy them if I thought that I could. It just doesn't compute for me. Besides, many of my waters have pike/pickerel and I'll be d*mned if I'm gonna have biteoffs on $25 baits!!

Thats exactly the same cranks i use the Rapala Shad raps, of course i have different assortments of them. I work at SportsAuthority down here in southern california so were not huge on bass fishing like out there in the south and east areas.

I try to buy brands that we cary in the store cuz i get a nice discount, and sometimes we have buy 1 get 2nd 50% off plus my discount so thats when i go crazy.

I just wondered if im missing out on other types of brands, i watch the fishing channel every single day and i see all the pros using different lures so i wondered if i should try out the high end brands.

THANKS ALOT GUYS!!! All this info means alot to me, thanks for your time i really appreciate it!

I have recently started fishing with crankbaits also. I purchased a few Lucky Craft CB200, I have had the best luck with the Ghost Minnow, although I have not used a lot of the other brands I plan on trying some cheaper baits to see how they compare. I will let you know how it turns out.

It's not so much the lure but where you put it.

We fish in a very weedy river the bass see lots of plastics but not to many cranks.A well placed cast where cranks are seldom seen is VERY productive :)
