Super User Sam Posted December 29, 2014 Super User Posted December 29, 2014 Hey Cyclops, how about some additional information on your "floaters." Give us the type and what size hooks are on them from the manufacturer and what size do you replace them with? Then ask the guys if they have any ideas for you to try with your hook selection. Happy New Year! Quote

Super User Montanaro Posted December 29, 2014 Super User Posted December 29, 2014 Floaters? As in terds? 1 Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted December 29, 2014 Super User Posted December 29, 2014 Floaters? As in terds? Great topwater bait. You just need to have a good spot for the hooks. Hence the small hooks. Quote
cyclops2 Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 Old mind. I use both Rebel 1 5/8 " and Rapala 1 5/8" floating lures to catch shiners. The standard # 12 trebles are too big for most baitfish. I can buy a few small trebles. The tiny trebles reduce shock & early death rates greatly. I have been using the # 18. But Owner Hooks has a # 20.This spring a full change over to the # 20s used for bait collecting. Quote

Just tipped it with bread and I would easily catch a day's worth. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted December 30, 2014 Super User Posted December 30, 2014 Wow Are they good with eggs for breakfast? My older brother would cook up big panfish with eggs for breakfast. Quote
primetime Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 The Walking Turd is a topwater presentation that very few people use these days......Original BIo bait made famous in the movie Caddy Shack. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 30, 2014 Super User Posted December 30, 2014 I don't go up in size, but I go up in strength. Owner 3x. Quote
