bassman1282 Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Anyone know if and where I can get some lure blanks (no paint) so that I dont have to sand off the original paint of the ones I buy in the store? I am looking for rogues, wiggle warts, or square bills of almost any kind. Thanks. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 try Jannsnetcraft.com. Barlows might have it or stamina but I think Jans has the best selection. Quote
BIG M Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Jann's is the best bet. Lots of name brand copies to choose from, be careful what you use for a clear coat. If the baits are a suspending lure an epoxy will likely to cause it to sink. Quote
bassman1282 Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 What would you suggest instead of the devcon for suspending jerkbaits so that they suspend better? Quote
Super User Munkin Posted October 10, 2007 Super User Posted October 10, 2007 What would you suggest instead of the devcon for suspending jerkbaits so that they suspend better? Thin the Devcon with denatured alcohol. Allen Quote
BIG M Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 bassman, you can also use polyurathane in the spray can (ultra clear) and give the baits about 4 coats. That will give you baits pretty good protection. That is what I use, I've never messed with the thinned epoxy. Quote
SecondWind Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Hey Gang, where do you get those clamps to hold the blanks. Steve Quote
BIG M Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 I use forceps to hold my baits while painting. Quote

cootertom Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 How about alligator clips, crimped on 10 gauge solid wire, with holes drilled in 2x4 to hold wire upright. Works O.K. for me. Quote
