All conditions year round on both types of bait. When you fish jigs and worms it's a slow presentation which works early in the season when it's cold all the way through to the coming winter, Fish are latharjic (It think that how you spell it) in the cold months and slow down while they will slam them in the hottest of months. Try to get comfortable with both and don't ever hesitate to throw them at any time of the year.

Personal preference.  Do you want to further your cast/sink rate?  Then go with a small jig.  I would say a 1/16oz, maybe a little larger at a 1/8th oz.  You decide.  You could go even larger if you wish...  But remember for every 1/16th oz, you will gain 3" faster sink rate.  :)  I think that's the equation...  You could fish them texas rigged, if you bend the hook back a little...

With the hook, you can choose to run a sinker, and basically would be the same...  Just all in the personal preferences!

Whatever you feel more comfortable with.

I can detect a hit better with  a worm, so I use worms 99% of the time I fish.

I'd like to get better with a jig, as they're very similar.

They both work well, and during all times of the year. Try both and see what you like best!

Both Year Round & in every condition  :)

I think you will  catch better numbers with a worm but, usually for me at least, a jig gets bigger fish. I use a worm in clearer water but, if the water is murky or muddy I go to a jig, 1/2oz most of the time.

I use a jig for more of a vertical presentation while worms tend to be more horizontal for me.

Me, too!

For me they both solve the same problem; fishing a slow moving bait, on or near the bottom, in cover.

Jig seems to produce better in colder water.

I usually throw platics once the water hits 58-60 degr.

I think you get more bites on a worm or lizard, but agree that the jig tends to get bigger bites.

Around the spawn, a Lizard produces more for me than a big jig, althought the smaller finesse jigs (bitsy bug, etc) work well too.

If you're pitching or flipping thick cover, a shorter profile bait (while bulky) like a jig or tx rigged tube seems to come through the cover best. Just tie on both, and see what they like best that day.
