Just finished up this rod, SC368MXF, using Lamar Exotic Burnt Burl, and Lamar Exotic Laguna Burl accents for the split grips, Fuji ECS Seat, Spiral wrapped Fuji Alconite Guides, and Marbled the split.

Here is a close up of the marbled area between the split grip. Used Silver, Gray, and a splash of White.

That rod looks to nice to fish with ;)

Is there any weight difference between the burl and cork?

David,

I love it! It seems I am doing underwraps on all my rods, just because it is so easy to do. LOL I will have some pics up soon of a feminine rod I built for a fishing partner's wife on one of 'Mudhole's' purple blanks.

Keep posting your work, it looks great!

Burl is much denser and therefore, heavier.  About 2-3 times the weight, if I remember correctly.
