All-Season Rain Jacket/parka...

I don't want to spend more than $300, so I'm looking at these jackets/parkas:

 

- Cabelas Guidewear Goretex xtreme Parka (uninsulated but with nylon lining)

- Cabelas Guidewear Goretex Bass Angler Jacket (uninsulated without interior nylon-lining)

- Bass Pro Shops 100 mph Goretex Rain Parka (uninsulated but with nylon lining)

- Frabill F4 Cyclone Rainsuit Jacket (not sure about the interior)

 

I've been using the Cabela's EXV Goretex Jacket and have been very pleased, but the jacket is getting old and the zipper is a pain.

 

I'm worried the Cabelas Xtreme parka might be a little too heavy and it doesn't have a closable velcro flap to cover the face when making a run (zipping it all the way up has always been a pain with my current cabelas exv jacket).

 

I'm worried the the Cabelas Bass Angler Jacket without any liner is mainly a summer jacket and won't hold up as a shell for xtreme cold wind in the winter (am I crazy thinking the missing nylon serves as an extra layer of protection from the elements?) 

 

I've never had the opportunity to put on a Bass Pros parka (not close to a BPS).  Is it guaranteed for life similar to Cabela's Goretex gear?)

 

I know nothing about the Frabill C4 Cyclone other than the really cool features for anglers.  It is NOT Goretex, so is whatever they use just as reliable as Goretex?  Is there a nylon-liner for easy on/off? 

 

Anybody with any experience with these specific jackets?  I would love to get some replies on my concerns.  Thanks.

FYI Cabela's brand clothing and footwear is guaranteed for the lifetime of the product under normal wear and tear and defects in workmanship.

I use 5.11 gear. You can remove the outer shell which is resistant and wear the inside. It has tons of pockets. I think I paid $220 through a uniform shop ($0 out of pocket because it was is my "uniform" jacket ). I would of gladly paid the money though.

I've got the BPS 100mph Parka and love it. You can wear it as is in the summer and it stays cool enough in the heat, yet keeps you fairly warm in the cold. When it gets cold out, you can zip in a liner (I found Columbia liners work as well) you have something that will keep the heat in as well if not better than most winter jackets. I will admit that the zipper sometimes takes a second or two to get started, but once you have it started it works perfectly.

I have a set of guide wear that is at least 10 years old now that I wear for spring & fall weather.   Summer time, I prefer a lightweight set of frog toggs.

I use the Frabill F3 outfit. Which is one step down from the F4. I can't recommend that suit enough. I've fished numerous days in the pouring rain and I've never gotten a drop of rain on me. I even worse it in the rain during deer season two weeks ago.

If you're looking for something that is insulated and will keep you warm in the really cold weather, I wouldn't suggest the Frabill suits. But they are good for those brisk spring and fall days where you might be in the 50's and 60's.

i have no recommendation as i use backpacking gear...arcteryx to be exact but i can say don't waste your time zipping in a liner.  it isn't as warm as if you just wear a fleece and the shell over.  First of all you create an area where the zipper is that has zero insulation and secondly, it is a real PITA if you have to shed any layers because it warms up throughout the day

I agree. I'm going to wear mid /insulating layers during the cold winter - I'm just not sure which - that's for another post.
