New lure ideas

Since its getting darker earlier I have some more free time.  I decided I'm going to make a one of a kind lure but dont really know what I want to make.  So I"m looking for some suggestions please.  

BTW it will be soft plastic.

How 'bout something that looks like a Bic pen, falls horizontally, has a subtle vibration, soft texture and a salty taste?

Do you think it would sell or is that idea too silly?

So we are talking slim, fully round, and kinda like an anarexic senko.

This is very doable and easy. I have an idea for this one already too.  I like the thought here.

Figured as much from you.  That would never sell anyway. ;D  You did give me an idea though.

Cutting a senko in half and putting a chompers top on it would be cool.  only make them in dark colors. ;D

How about coming up with something to give a jigging spoon a softer feel, something plastic with a lot of flash that would slip over the jigging spoon (without losing the action) so the bass hold onto them longer. Something strong, thin and maybe salty. Note: I tried using a tube bait, but after 5 minutes the tube bait is double the length and the action of the spoon is gone. You can call it The Spoon Slicker.

If not that, how about recreating the Bobby Garland Hard Times Grub, but this time with scent and salt. It hasn't been made in about 15 years, and it really did catch fish when times were tough.  I ordered several hundred when I found out they were being discontinued, and now have less than fifty left.  I keep them in my panic box and only use them in tourneys anymore.

How about a senko, but perfectly symmetrical, with a little skirt on each end like the skirt that's on a hula grub or a fat ika.  It would be pretty easy to make and I think it would be awesome for whacky rigging.

wacky rig a fluke...works great and has just the action you're looking for

as for the new bait, well i say make a creature bait. thats pretty much the only category that you can be "creative" in and make something that isnt already out there. make something with lots of appendages. i mean this thing should have appendages coming off of appendages. something very "crawly" that you could well...crawl...on the bottom and its just so ***** looking that a bass would just have to hit it to find out what it is.

I've been in the market for a spider grub upgrade for a time.  I'm going to try putting together a mold when I get home.  Basically a spider grub with the paca craw style pinchers instead of grub tails.  I think that would be the ULTIMATE jig trailer.  The soft plastic skirt would have to be bought seperately and attached, but think about it.  It would beef up jigs, the soft plastic adds a little flash that skirts don't, and you have great trailer pinchers.  not to mention the bait itself is bulky, so it would do great on 1/4-1/2oz jigs as far as helping fall rates and whatnot.
