joelhains Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I make my own soft plastics. I make my own spinnerbaits. I make my own jigs. Hard baits are the only things I buy off the self. For me 90% of my crankbaits or hard jerkbaits are Rapalas. I have a select few from other brands, but I have confidence in these baits so that's what I throw. Quote
Stingray23 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 The only soft plastic I use with any regularity is a fluke, Zooms work just fine. Same here. Quote

War Eagle 44 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I have many different brands of plastics overall but I tend to "cherry pick" a few lures from each company that really work for me and stick with them. In the case of beaver baits I've tried a few but only really fish two, the original Sweet Beaver from RI and the D-Bomb from Missile Baits. I'm really glad I don't have to narrow my selection down to a handful of brands but if forced I think I could, Zoom, Net Bait, Rage, and Gambler could more than likely get me through. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted December 24, 2014 Super User Posted December 24, 2014 Well frog fishing I have narrowed the baits down to 4. Snag Proofs Ish's frogs (both), Live Target's Field Mouse, and Sproz's Bronzeye Shad. As for the list of plastics, Kietech Netbait GY Missle Zman Zoom Yum Strike King & Rage Tail Gene Larew Lunker City Each bait has it's place and time. I've swapped craw/creature baits several times till I find the look they are wanting. You know when you find it. The only way you find baits you like is to fish them all and keep the ones you like. The others, give them away to the local kids at the park fishing or buddies that want them. Quote
