Super User Catch and Grease Posted December 20, 2014 Super User Posted December 20, 2014 Black! Quote
okbassguy Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 Is black good all the time or is it more when it bright or dark Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted December 20, 2014 Super User Posted December 20, 2014 black, green, and white are the only color frog you need. get 1 of each. There is no "magic" color. 1 Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 20, 2014 Super User Posted December 20, 2014 I would suggest black. Remember, bass can see profiles in dirty water and at night and black has an excellent profile. Quote
Super User Raul Posted December 20, 2014 Super User Posted December 20, 2014 The best color for muddy water is noisy. 4 Quote
smallieking Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 bass cant see colors as well in muddy water just like people cant see colors in low light situations.instead of worrying about color worry about sound and water displacement... i would suggest the purchase of the spro bronzeye SHAD instead of the frog. this baits belly is designed different from the frog. tho its a top water it sits much deeper in water so when you start to work the bait its pushing more water and this is what you want in muddy water. 1 Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted December 21, 2014 Super User Posted December 21, 2014 Noisy is good. The bronzeye shad is a great frog, also look into snag proofs Ish's Phat Frog or Poppin Phatty. Comes with a rattle in it as well and is impossible to sink, easy to walk, and has a good hook up ratio. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 21, 2014 Global Moderator Posted December 21, 2014 I would try black, and if that doesn't work you could always try black, and if all else fails I'd try black. 5 Quote
okbassguy Posted December 21, 2014 Author Posted December 21, 2014 I guess I'm gonna get the spro bronze eye shad what color should I get and what's the best popping frog Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted December 21, 2014 Super User Posted December 21, 2014 I like the SPRO popping frog in black and yellow Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted December 21, 2014 Super User Posted December 21, 2014 I like the Snag Proofs Ish's Poppin Phatty.....in black. Quote

Super User Angry John Posted December 22, 2014 Super User Posted December 22, 2014 I like a brown frog. Of the ones I have and use it works coast to coast Quote
basshole8190 Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Black spro popping frog has caught me more fish than all my other frogs combined Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted December 22, 2014 Super User Posted December 22, 2014 A Booyah Poppin Pad Crasher is a good choice for a popping frog. You can still walk it if you want, but it also allows you to slow it down and chug it too. The best part of it is that they aren't too pricey either. Quote
Super User Catt Posted December 23, 2014 Super User Posted December 23, 2014 Bass in off colored water are lateral line feeders so I'm gonna be throwing noise. Stanley Bull Ribbit, Rage Tail Eeliminator, or Lobster Dark color, chartreuse, or orange Quote
desmobob Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I fish in muddy water and I threw frogs a good bit this summer. I used yellow, chartreuse, green and black. I didn't notice too much of a preference by the bass, but I think the darn pike bit off more of the chartreuse or yellow ones... :-) Tight lines, Bob Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted December 23, 2014 Super User Posted December 23, 2014 Green Pumpkin Rage Tail Toad is hard to beat! In my experience a rage toad or horny toad could be tie dyed and they would get bit. I've never had to be picky on color with these 2 frogs. Quote
