You have some hot ponds.  Up until yesterday I was catching some quality bass every place I went, not one single strike yesterday.  I did catch a snook, mackerel and a peacock earlier in the day, hadn't been to the ocean all week.

Trip is coming to a close! Flying back to New York tomorrow :(

Had a great day fishing today however!

Got an amazing topwater blowup on a heddon baby torpedo! I love the sound of a topwater blowup!

A bunch of other bass were caught on spinnerbaits, inline spinners, lipless cranks and some other enticing lures. The bass were chasing bait in this one cove it was crazy! Fished with MIBassin again, great to have a fishing buddy, and he caught a florida gar too. He also hooked into a possible DD gar but it came off :( it was at least 3 feet long and FAT.

You definitely hooked up with some great bass Weld's. By the video's and commentary you had a blast on your trip with us in South Florida. The lake your family member resides at is definitely a gem. Not all area's are producing the quality of bass you were catching right now. Nonetheless, you had a special trip and made a new friend. Maybe we will see more reports from you in the summer. Take care, and til next time.

All ponds may be created equal down here but they may not stay that way.  I have 6 ponds in my community, 5 of them used to be excellent when I first moved in.  Several years ago the county of Palm Beach forced my community to purchase reclaimed water instead of relying on rainwater.  That was the begining of the end, the fishing has ever been the same since this program was started, additionally the HOA is weed spray crazy.  The times I venture to other communities as I did this week I can really see the difference, caught quite a few quality bass as of late.

I have a golf course that I can walk to, fished it several times and have never had a strike over the years.  This past week I fished a couple of golf courses in Boca, WOW is all I can say.

I've met a few people that live in a community not to far from where Weld fishes, they have a fishing platform and stock the pond with bait fish.  I have heard some incredible fish being caught there.  Last week while I was fishing I met fellow that lives in my area, his lake can't be fished from shore so he says, too much shoreline vegetation, he does have a jon boat and invited me, this could be some major fun.

Jump on that invitation. You guys are fortunate to be fishing the small lakes and golf courses you have access to.

Do you ever fish any private lakes? The one in your profile photo?

The one on my avatar pic was caught in a retention pond off the turnpike. Shortly after that pic was taken FHP kicked me out. That was an awesome outing. I pass by that pond a couple times a month looking at spot i caught it at every time... lol!!

It isn't worth the trouble.

I try not to go where I'm not wanted, residential single home and condo communities are places where the residents complain, rental apartments seem to be much less of a problem.  I found a nice apartment pond yesterday, actually a friend told me about it.
