As a Broncos fan I was EXTREMELY happy when Cutler was dumped, but shocked at the

contract(s) he has been able to negotiate with Chicago. What's really tough will be paying

$15M next year to a guy that never steps onto the field!

It's been a long time coming.

After watching his performances (or lack there of) over the course of this season - it's time.

And I'm not even a Bears fan.

His play reminds me of someone impersonating a QB for Halloween - just not good at all.

But he'll be laughing all the way to the bank.  His favorite song is called "Who cares, I'm getting $15 Million - guaranteed ! "

OUCH.

As a Bears fan, it breaks my heart. I am always optimistic at the beginning of each season and stand behind whoever is the QB, the coach or whoever. I thought Cutler had the talent even if he wasn't the most charismatic player on the field. It sure is a let down.

Broncos fan here as well....  not sure which guy i was happier to see leave:  Orton, Cutler or Tebow

Good luck bears fans, Clausen chumped it up for the Panthers and I can't see him turning it around anytime soon.

Cutler never advanced past the potential the Bears saw when they grabbed him. He has already peaked. The only thing that will make him a champion is when the Bears trade him. Seems everybody we get rid of improves once they're on other teams.

As I recall Denver basically threw Cutler out by "trading" for a Bears fourth round draft pick.

We had Grossman and Orton anything was a step in the right direction

With Rex Chicago made history. The Bears are the only team to ever reach the Super Bowl without a quarterback!

Trent Dilfer doesn't get any love - he only played for the Ravens for that one season.  Just goes to show an incredible D can win.

Grossman, Orton and most recently Josh McCown didn't improve after leaving the Bears. I can't remember anybody who made the pro bowl after leaving Chicago.

In general we get rid of veterans near the end of their careers after they haven't performed in a year or two. They seem to get a breath of fresh air the first season not being a Bear. Look at Peppers this year. He hasn't done squat the last 2 years as a Bear, he went to the Pack and he woke up. Same goes for a number of players. Cedric Benson, Greg Olsen to name a couple off the top of my head.

The Bears lack leadership from the QB on up. Now that Urlacher is gone and Peanut is out and my guess his career is over, the D has no leadership either

Brian Urlacher and Mike Singletary are class acts and two of the greatest players

ever to represent professional football. I was a "bandwagon fan" during the Ditka

Era.

And then there was Sweetness, the Greatest Runningback of All Time!

Right on the money with Singletary, Payton, and Urlacher, can add Gale Sayers to that list.

Greatness after Chicago, yeh it can happen.  Ditka drafted by the Bears, eventually woundup in Dallas and scored the winning td in the SB, then on to the Hall of Fame.  Won a SB as a coach too.

  • It is quite possible that management is protecting their investment or at least a protecting it a little.

When the opposing team's defense spends more time in your backfield than your team as the Saints did on Monday night it doesn't matter who

quarterback's your team.

Cutler has had plenty of games where he outright sucked in his own right this year.

The running game has also been hideous at times. who knows maybe that is because they know that we cant pass?

Either way it is a painful time to be a Bears fan.

I think Cutler will pick it up a little as I think his ego is too big to ride the bench long so he will put some extra effort into it.

Your last point is exactly why he should have been benched a long time ago.  All the talent in the world with no work ethic or pride in his craft.  He has more arm talent in his pinkie than my boy Peyton has in his whole body and doesnt get a fraction of the production out of it...

Cant stand Cutler.
